From Lochaber, we’re hosting Glen Spean Brewing Co showcasing their range. Seriously underrated brewery for some classics. As with Cromarty, soft Highland water really elevates beer. Based in an 18th C. steading, with views over Aonoch Mor ⛰️

Fair #4 LESS THAN 35 TICKETS LEFT! 🎟️

Tempest Brewing Co. were a massive hit with their barley wines last time and I’m sure when we release the beer list they will have some showstoppers. Long White Cloud has probably been the best selling beer at the shop for a good few years, but there’s so much more to these guys! They have produced some of our favourite barrel aged stouts in recent times, while maintaining cult classics such as Mexicake (chilli chocolate) and All the leaves are brown (Bourbon aged brown ale with maple syrup). Also some banging single hop showcases and sours. Their taproom (soon to be moving) is 100% worth a visit in Tw**dbank just off the railway.

Barney's Beer Yes they’re our local, but did you know there has been a brewery in their site since 1705? Situated in Edinburgh’s “golden circle” where there were once hundreds of breweries owning to the quality of the water - now just them. The likes of Volcano IPA has been on the scene for ages, but I think it is it an under appreciated classic! More experimental stuff coming out of their tiny brew kit in recent years (see triple sec stouts & wine barrel aged Geuze) showcased in the amazing “post-mortem” range named after the respective room at Summerhall. Absolutely worth checking out if you haven’t sampled their wares in a wee while!

George is fast becoming a fixture at Grog fairs. It’s no exaggeration to say he revolutionised the Grog cider section when he approached us a few years back. Truly world class Scottish & English producers such as Lanthorn, Easteron, Caledonian, Ross-on-Wye & Oliver’s to name a few. Deeply complex and delicious. The perfect way to Segway into summer 🍎 ☀️

#1 Pilot beer

Let’s get the ball rolling on our attendees in focus series with Pilot. They barely need an intro due to their ubiquity on the Edinburgh good beer scene, and questionable social media strategies. It’s sometimes it’s easy to forget how lucky we are to have them in our city.
Turned 10 years old last October, but the old dogs keep on pulling off bangers. More of a focus on cask beers last year, with the return of a few favourites such as Blue lady (tea) pale ale and their old “India” IPA. Little red IPA might just be one of my early nominees for my beer of the year too!

Can’t wait to have you slingin samples at the fair. Keep smashing it guys 👏

Lots of lesser seen continental beers arrived this week! Quite a German theme as the “Starkbierfest” bottles start to arrive. Its roots can be found as a need to meet the nutritional needs of 17th century German monks. Expected to fast during lent, while still being allowed to drink, the Paulaner monks came up with a bready nourishing strong beer we now call a Doppelbock. Happy Monday 🫠 Table, Small, Light, Radler, Micro, Session are just a few of the words to look out for if you’re after a something a bit lighter on the Abv.

Alternatively, as of today we have 55(!) different alcohol free beers on the shelf just now. Great options from dedicated breweries such as Jump Ship Brewing Mash Gang Brulo beer

A massive thank you to all of our customers & suppliers! We’re back open for normal hours on Wednesday (27th) to see in 2024 🍾

It’s been a big year for us opening the new shop, so we really can’t thank all of our customers for allowing us to share great drinks with you enough 😊 Similarly, we’re only as good as the products in the shelves so well done and thanks to all of our suppliers, from around the corner, to the other side of the planet! Finally, we need to thank our amazing wine team of Leithers Great Grog for putting up with our incessant demands from niche Georgian wine, to a delivery last thing on a Saturday.
