🚨 Update Announcement 🚨

As many of the bars and their teams involved with EBD refocus on reopening their venues in the coming weeks and months ahead we’ve also decided to take a break in order to regroup and focus on the exciting things next to come.
We’d just like to say a huge thanks to everyone for the amazing support over the last 12 months, from you lot stuck at home to all the incredible bars, breweries and distilleries supplying all the delightful drinks, the drivers, volunteers and everyone else involved, THANK YOU! 🙌🏼❤️ 🍻
We’ll be back in some capacity soon so watch this space!

We just want to take a moment now, to say a massive thank you for all the support! It just shows how amazing Edinburgh is as a community. The demand for “supporting local” has been truly heartwarming!

To all the volunteers that have helped us over these times, you are just a bunch of hero’s. We will never forget what you have done for us. Once the dust settles we hope to repay you all properly.

Harder times lie in wait for the whole hospitality industry, but you all have helped, made us believe again and given us a all chance of survival.

Hi lovely folks,

We’d love to introduce you to Andrew, Rachel & Alex. They own the amazing Hey Palu. Located on Bread Street in Edinburgh’s City Centre, the aperitivo-led bar opened in October 2019.

Inspired by the Italian way of drinking, Hey Palu pays homage to the country’s rich and vibrant cocktail culture with a traditional aperitivo menu, bar snacks, and modern decor.

Alex and Rachel first met in London where Alex used to run the famous Lonsdale bar before moving to do openings for Hakkasan and Bone Daddies while Rachel worked for the legendary Mark Hix in Soho.

The couple worked together at the famed seafood restaurant Salt Room in Brighton.

Alex and Andrew had met previously in Edinburgh working for Compass Group where together took care of the drink offer for the group.

Hey Palu is split into two spaces: the Campari space, a lively bar area suitable for pre-dinner drinks or late cocktails, and the Martini space – filled with ample seating to while away an evening at leisure.

And for those wishing to take drinks away, the on-site off-licence sells bottles of the bar’s

favourite libations – Negroni, Gin Martini and Rum ‘n’ Raisin Old Fashioned – to go.
