THE COSMO

What can be more delightful than sipping an a fresh citrusy Cosmopolitan.

Here’s our simple recipe for you to try out.

25ml Ketel One vodka
25ml Cointreau
45ml Cranberry juice
12.5ml Sugar syrup
Dash of orange bitters

METHOD

Shake and double strain in a martini style glass and garnish with an orange twist.

A celebration of the greatest invention known to man, the cocktail.

What will you be mixing this year? We’ve prepared a delicious White Lady for the occasion!

50ml Blind Tiger Gin
25ml Cointreau
25ml Supasawa (sweet&sour)
1/2 and egg white

THE CLASSIC G&T

For this we require a classic London style gin and one of our favourites at FREDS is Lind & Lime.

Produced in the historic distilling district of Leith in Edinburgh, it took almost two years for the team to develop the deliciously harmonious recipe.

With the bright, zesty influence of fresh lime peel complemented by a gentle, warming pink peppercorn spice, we are huge fans of this multi-award-winning gin.

We can’t recommend it highly enough and the perfect accompaniment for a midweek curry.

THE ESPRESSO MARTINI

Get your fix with this sumptuous and decadent twist on the classic espresso martini using FABLE The Captain’s Daughter blended malt, fresh espresso and maple syrup.

37.5ml FABLE The Captain's Daughter
37.5ml Espresso
12.5ml Coffee liqueur
5ml Maple syrup

METHOD

STEP 1 - Add ingredients to a shaker
STEP 2 - Shake vigorously
STEP 3 - Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a coffee bean

Spring hasn’t quite sprung but that won’t stop us making beautiful gin drinks.

This one couldn’t be simpler and captures the essence of British Spring time.

Chase GB Gin is best enjoyed as a gin and tonic but we’ve added a Spring twist swapping out tonic water for sparkling elderflower.

Fill a glass with lots of ice, add 25ml or 50ml of Chase GB gin then top with a premium sparkling elderflower and a slice of fresh ginger to garnish.

Chase Extra Dry gin is smooth & full-bodied, perfectly balanced with juniper, spice and citrus. A must-try for gin lovers. Distinct and full-bodied in flavour!

INGREDIENTS

37.5mls 1800 Silver Tequila
25mls Freshly-squeezed lime juice
20mls Cointreau
Sea salt

METHOD

STEP 1 Salt rim cocktail glass
STEP 2 Add ingredients to a cocktail shaker
STEP 3 Shake and strain into a salt-rimmed glass
STEP 4 Garnish with lime

50mls Glen Grant 10 years old
125mls hot water
15mls lemon juice
2 tsp honey

Mix together and pour into a toddy mug/cocktail glass.

SCOTCH ‘n’ CHOCS 🍫

Black Friday is almost upon us and we have a delicious suggestion to help you make the most of the festive period.

Singleton of Dufftown 12 years old is a delightful combination of American oak ex-bourbon barrels and aged Sherry casks.

This Singleton is distilled in Dufftown, a small town that is often referred to as the capital of Speyside due to its intense concentration of distilleries.

It has been said (on many an occasion) that Rome was build on seven hills and Dufftown, on seven stills.

Soft nutty notes, little pops of sweetness with hints of elegant dark chocolate leave a long and rewarding finish. Those flavours linger longer with a little nibble of high % cacao chocolate.

We love to pair this Speyside single malt whisky with chocolates to unleash the hidden depths of aromas.

CREEPY COCKTAILS 🍹

Tiki-Lovers Pineapple Rum offers up plenty of ghoulish inspiration.

WE LOVE ❤️

Casamigos Tequila - co-founded by George Clooney, Casamigos translates to 'House of Friends'.

This Reposado is aged for around 7 months in American Oak barrels which bring notes of dried fruits and spicy oak, with a touch of sweet agave.

As the name would suggest, it’s best enjoyed with a pal or two.

WE LOVE 🧡

Limited to only 270 Bottles this Whisky was distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2021.

Unusually, this Ardmore was aged in a Bourbon Cask which previously contained an Islay Whisky. This definitely adds an extra layer of complexity to the usual smoky profile you get from Ardmore.

ESPRESSO MARTINI TIME 🥳

The Espresso Martini is exactly what we need to round-off a Wednesday afternoon!

The Espresso Martini is (typically) a sumptuous mix of vodka, espresso and coffee liqueur. It's rich, indulgent and creamy, and the shot of fresh espresso will certainly give you a boost if your are flagging after a long day at work.

It's what we call a contemporary classic cocktail. Ironically, it was first served in the Soho Brasserie, London back in the late 80's when a very well-known model asked for something that would wake her up, and %^$£ her up.

The bartender duly whipped-up an Espresso Martini.

We have jazzed things up a touch with Diplomatico rum in place of vodka, and Cross Brew as our preferred choice of liqueur.

Produced at the oldest distillery on the Isle of Skye, Talisker has been made by the sea since 1830, with its smell and taste instantly connecting you to its rugged maritime home. It's the perfect whisky for a fresh Octobers evening.

This single malt has a famously rich and powerful peat-smoke flavour, while the finish leaves you with a warm peppery taste that lingers.

It is a 'must-stock' for any at home bar due to its unique coastal characteristics.
