The Romanian Wine Company only imports from ‘boutique’ wineries and is not linked to any supermarkets or big wine merchants chains. These unique end exquisite wines are just that. Of the two directors one has the expertise of the locality and the other director is the wine buyer and runs Tastebuds Wines Limited. Grapes and Romania (Dacia in Roman times) have been synonymous for 2000 years and wine
has always been an important trading and social commodity. Post communism has seen an increase in wineries being re-instated but exports are slow. Large foreign wine companies own some of the larger wineries, but The Romanian Wine Company is a privately owned company.
