Allagash, North Sky, Stout 7.5%

A WORD ON ALLAGASH
Long time masters of American craft from Portland MA! Their speciality is lending a modern brewing approach to classic Belgian styles, which they’ve been nailing for a whopping 29 years.

A WORD ON NORTH SKY
A smooth and seductive Belgian-inspired Stout, which sings of nuttiness, caramel and roasted coffee with zero adjuncts. We love a silly flavoured stout as much as the next UnTappd user, but are just as partial to a plain stout that gets everything right. A proper winter warmer, with delicate silkiness that offsets a pronounced maltiness and a light touch of dark dried fruit. It’s so good Nick Drake wrote a whole song about it.

Pressure Drop - Welcome to the Internet DIPA 8.4%

A word on PRESSURE DROP
Bastions of quality beer in the capital for 11 years, Tottenham based Pressure Drop are best known for their classically citrussy flagship ‘Pale Fire’ and their endless adeptness at brewing bombastic IPAs. They’re masters of whatever they turn their hand to, though, and we’re happy to be home to a wide range of styles from them at present.

A word on WELCOME TO THE INTERNET

It’s hard to go wrong with a massive hazy DIPA from Pressure Drop. Enormous sherbety aroma, luscious and creamy mouthfeel, pineapple paradise on the tongue and a hint of bitterness to make this almost dessert-like experience of a beer somehow genuinely refreshing. Chuck in a can design for the ages and you’ve got a certified modern classic. We love you, Welcome to the Internet.

Staff Pick, Hercules: Verdant, The Shapes, The Chaos 6.5% #

A Word on ‘The Shapes, The Chaos’:

The New England IPA is easily the most ubiquitous style in craft beer, so you’d think all corners of its complexity have been explored at this point. With this brew, though, Verdant have entered a new realm of soft, pillowy fruitiness and pioneered a flavour that is as boldly riveting as it is refreshingly easy. This is the kind of beer that makes your co-worker ask why you suddenly got so serious, to which you can only respond “because this beer is completely perfect” (based on a true story). Available now in cans and coming to the taps soon!

After over 6 years it’s time to wave ‘Head Cat’ Dan a fond farewell.

Often (mistakenly) thought of as one of the owners, Dan has been the public face of Kill The Cat since taking over at Brick Lane back in Feb 2018.

During his tenure as GM, Dan’s spearheaded and delivered many of our dearest memories, from festivals, Meet Your Makers, Tastings and Birthdays to collaborations and corporate partnerships, while firmly rooting Kill The Cat as one of London’s best in the eyes of beer lovers and industry alike. He’s also grown with the business, becoming an Advanced Cicerone and International Beer Judge along the way.

Now, after helping us launch our second site in Spitalfields, Dan is now taking some time to focus on his own Beer Tours & Tastings business ‘That’s The Beer Talking’ before starting something a little closer to his new home in Lewes, East Sussex later this year.

Dan leaves the Cat in safe hands with Jack & Hercules running Spitalfields & Brick Lane respectively, but will no doubt be missed.

Dan, cheers for everything this last half a decade 🍻 It really wouldn’t have been the same without you 😽

Harking back to founder Brett Moore’s South African heritage, conjuring images of moving place to place and season to season, first releases ‘Sun Downer’ & ‘Thank You For The Day’ shine out the bottle and bring thankful and sun-drenched vibes to our corner of London.  Both beers are available at both our stores, we’re more than happy to give them a home!
