Chilean Wine and Argentine Tango Pairing in Penang
The wine
Cono Sur Bicicleta Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva 2021
Central Valley - Chile, Chile
An approachable bright ruby red colour that suggests concentrated grapes. Although the wine is labelled as a "Reserva" there is little indication of oak ageing.
The wine's nose shows rich notes of plum, berries with hints of cloves and cinnamon.
On the palate, there bright berries with light hints of coffee. No vanilla from oak suggesting stainless steel ageing.
A nicely structured and balanced easy quaffing wine.
The Tango
Warren Edwardes writes:
It is an easy drinking bright light red wine yet full in the mouth. Some complexity but not much.
So I'll select D'Arienzo from the mid 1940s sung by baritone Maure.
Precisely
Amarras - D"Arienzo c. Maure 1944

William Teng of Penang Argentine Tango writes:
I am not a wine connoisseur myself. After the first sip, I didn't really like the taste. However, after several sips, I started to acquired the taste of it. Pleasant to the tongue and soothing to the throat. Muy Bien ππ
I will go for Ricardo Tanturi's Encuentro sung by Enrique Campos.
Coincidentally, it was Penang Argentine Tango's first meeting with Warren Edwardes. Impresionante! ππ
