It is with great sadness that we are announcing the closure of our Twickenham store and online sales. Our last day of opening will be on Saturday 23 July 2022, and we will be trading between 12-6 with no on site drinking during this period.

It has been really tough to put this in to words and making decisions like this are never easy.

We are incredibly grateful to all of the customers who have supported us since we opened our doors back in May 2005. We have been able to achieve many things and we have had a lot of fun along the way, mainly due to our dedicated and passionate team who have done so much more than just work here.

Our independence has always been at the heart of our business, giving us the ability to hand-pick and support so many incredible small breweries; cider makers; spirits producers; vineyards and more, by selling their products in this store. The impact we made is something we are immensely proud of, and Twickenham was where it all started. It has been made even more special because of the dedication of the team; and their interaction and enthusiasm with customers and our many suppliers.

As with many, the last few years has made us embrace change and consider how we grow as a business, which has lead us to difficult decisions around our retail offering and ultimately the closing of Twickenham. We hope you can join us in celebrating what has been a great chapter in the history of Real Drinks.

Should you want to continue the Real Drinks experience, we do have another store and tap room in Maida Vale (4 Formosa Street, W9 1EE) where we will continue to remain open and offer a wide selection of specialist drinks.

Lastly, please continue to support your local independent stores both here in Twickenham and beyond.

Next Thursday we'll be dimming the lights and turning our Twickenham shop into a haven for all things jazz, soul and funk. We'll have a sound system, turntables and local DJ Da Reel VIP on the controls all night. This is a High Tide Ripples event to mark the start of the awesome (not for profit) High Tide Festival on Church Street, Twickenham on the 17th July. Get down early to avoid disappointment and bring your finest pair of Jazz Hands!

We have this beautiful keg dispenser available to hire FOR FREE provided you get the beer from us and return it in one piece. We can get most beers you will find in our shops on keg- so the world is your oyster! We can also source a range of cask ales if that is more to your tastes. We're turning 17 in Twickenham next month. Join us for a fun filled evening of craft beer, natural wine and falafels. There will be *some* free drinks and a flat 10% off everything (excluding spirits). It's international Women's Day! We'd like to wish everyone a huge thanks that came to our talk and tasting tonight with Jenna. It was great to see the cellar so full of eager faces once again.

Our industry has a long way to go in representation and diversity, especially in light of recent events across the world of beer, but it's great to see so many caring folks expressing the importance of better representation in beer on a day like today.

Hopefully we can all carry this spirit forwards and make 2022 a year of significant progress towards a more inclusive craft beer community and industry at large! 🍻

It's honestly hard to pick a favourite right now but between Verdant Brewing Co - Brewery & Taproom, Põhjala Brewery, North Brewing Co, Drop Project Brewing Co, Floc. Monday stout? Don’t mind if we do.

Choppy from Drop Project Brewing Co has been staring at us in the fridges since it arrived, begging to be tasted and let us tell you frankly: it does not disappoint!

On the nose it’s toasty, it’s roasty, with a slight hop aroma and on the palate it’s much the same with an added dryness and smooth carbonation. The hop character from the chinook really does stand out to, an absolute corker of a sessionable little stout this is. Ideal for 6 nations viewing if you ask us! We’ll in Drop Project Brewing Co 🍻🤘
