“Since 1670, the Negro family has been cultivating vineyards in the hills of the Roero and realizing the viticultural potential of this relatively undiscovered subregion of Piedmont. In that same year, two of the estate’s most cherished vineyards—Perdaudin and Prachiosso—were first planted. Boasting some of the most desirable vineyard sites in the Roero, Negro in an indisputable legend of the area. In fact, Giovanni Negro, the estate’s proud patriarch, vinified the first dry Roero Arneis on record in 1971. The current winemaker, Angelo Negro, produces wines exclusively from the native grapes of the region, offering a remarkable range of Arneis and Nebbiolo, among other varietals. The family’s sandy, fossil-laden vineyards in the village of Monteu Roero coupled with their meticulous work in the vineyard and the cellar give rise to precise, soulful wines. “Donkey & Goat is celebrated for being amongst a handful of pioneers in the Natural Wine community because in 2004 they were unique for their ecological principles driving decisions in both the vineyard and the cellar and ten years later for promoting transparency, being one of the first to list ingredients on their label. Founding winemakers Jared Brandt & Tracey Rogers spent a year with the inimitable Eric Texier in 2002 studying the art of crafting natural wines in the Rhone Valley before co-founding Donkey & Goat in 2004 in San Francisco.” (from producers website)

🍐 IF/THEN WHITE - Chardonnay, Vermentino, Pinot Gris, Pinot Meunier, Roussanne, Sauvignon Blanc and Grenache Blanc! This wine offers notes of golden delicious apple, Asian pear, lemon pith, and citrus blossom, with hints of beeswax and chamomile. On the palate, a round textured mouthfeel is balanced by lively acidity.

🫐 IF/THEN RED - Merlot, Grenache, Counioses, Cinsault, Carignane, Mourvèdre, Fiano! Juicy, crunchy and fresh are the call-outs for this fun and easy-sipping wine. Bright notes of raspberry, blueberry, and boysenberry are complemented by herbaceous and floral hints of violets, lavender and sage. The palate delivers a burst of berry compote, with a long finish reminiscent of petrichor after the season’s first rain.

“Le Coste is a project that “started from zero” in 2004 by Gianmarco Antonuzzi and Clementine Bouveron.  14 hectacres of “ecosystem”, of vineyards, olive groves, chestnut trees, shrubs and oaks. Vineyards sit in close proximity to Lake Bolsena near Gianmarco’s childhood town of Gradoli in the Lazio region. The richest, nutrient rich soils you can find in the area.”

🌿 BIANCO - Procanico with smaller portions of Vermentino, Greco Antico, Malvasia di Candia & other region varietals! This wine is aplomb of flavor. Golden in color, savory and reminiscent of chestnuts, herbs and almonds.

🍒 ROSSO - Sangiovese with small amounts of Ciliegiolo, Colorino, Canaiolo and Vaiano! A blend of three parcels of various ages, elevations and expositions, harvested individually. The grapes are destemmed and spend ten days on skins, followed by a year in old chestnut casks. With gorgeous aromatics and a cherry-hue, it displays a wonderful brightness of fruit. One of their best yet.

No maceration, vinified like a white wine with the juice bled from the grapes immediately and allowed to spontaneously ferment for 7 days in concrete; secondary fermentation in bottle using the same wine then aged for one year before release; bottled unfined/unfiltered with no added SO2.

Jouves’ estate, 21 hectares in the junction of Quercy and Cahors, was selected to highlight the many expression of Côt. Reinforcing this is Fabien’s commitment to biodynamic viticulture that respects “life, plant, man, and the environment.” Following biodynamic agriculture adds strength to his terroir by supporting the whole environment from the vines to the animals.

“Attila Pálffy is a seventh-generation winemaker from Köveskál in western Hungary. P.A.N.K. (Pálffy Attila Natural Köveskál) is the natural wine project managed by Attila and his fiancée Orsolya.  P.A.N.K. is an acronym of Attila’s name and village (the noble village of Köveskál), and an homage to Attila’s love of punk music and culture.  The unfiltered and unfined P.A.N.K. Pét-Nats and Anfora wines caused a stir in Hungary when they were first released, and these wines - in perfect punk fashion - still run into problems with the authorities for their unconventional bent.  They were the first Pét-Nats to be approved for sale by the Hungarian government in 2018.

The P.A.N.K. wines come from their own certified organic vineyards in and around Köveskál.  They have been organic since 2005, and in 2013 they started biodynamic winemaking on half of the estate.  Attila works with very minimal intervention techniques in the cellar, such as spontaneous fermentation, zero sulfur, and no fining and filtering.” (from distributors website)

“Situated in Coteaux d’Aix en Provence, Domaine de la Mongestine is a young estate pursuing organic viticulture with biodynamic principles.  This is a rarity in their region that is known for mass produced rosé for easy poolside enjoyment.  However, new owners Harry and Celine Gozlan envision a project focused on farming with great care and making wines simply.  Their 31 planted hectares are mainly on the clay and limestone soils of North facing slopes which rise up to 450 meters making them some of the highest in the appellation.  These qualities ensure a longer maturation process to preserve freshness in the fruit and acidity.  The estate was certified organic in 2014 and is now undergoing the process of transition to biodynamic viticulture as well.” 🇫🇷

“A surfer at heart, Claus Preisinger has been making wine on the north shore of Lake Neusiedl in the Burgenland town of Gols since 2002. He converted the vineyards and winery to biodynamic production in 2006, and is Respekt Biodyn certified. Claus vinifies mostly domestic grape varieties such as Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, Grüner Veltliner and St. Laurent,  supplemented by Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc from both the west and east sides of Lake Neusiedl. Claus does not use any cultivated yeast, and only very slight or no dosing of sulphur dioxide. He ages many of his wines in amphora rather than wooden barrels, which he views as a conscious step back, a reduction to the essential - the grape and the soil. Reduction, minimalism and a free spirit are the guiding themes of Claus Preisinger.” (from winemakers website) 🇦🇹

🍒 ALEA VIVA - 100% Aleatico! A perfect summer red with notes of pepper, mulberry, cherry and minerals. In the mouth it is fresh, but above all savoury, fruity, crunchy and satisfying. Excellent if served slightly chilled.

🍷 ROSSO ARCAICO - Grechetto Rosso & Aleatico! Beautiful aromas filled the vicinities as soon as it was poured. Absolute beauty of ripe cherries, violets, bit of cocoa. There is definite mineral component in the nose which becomes more pronounced on the palate. Beautiful sipper with ageability.

A wine full of southern charm, so suited to autumn.

🤗 Hold me closer - Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, & Marsanne! The combination of the Ardèche grapes and the Alsace Foudre, have given a unique expression. Rich in fruit and with an almost northern-style acidity.

“landine Floch is a young and passionate winemaker based near the town of Blois in Touraine. She got her start in 2011 by helping in the vines and cellar of the legendary Olivier Lemasson, quickly falling in love with this new way of life. She eventually went on to train under the likes of Thierry Puzelat, Remi Dufaitre, Domaine du Scarabée, as well as natural pioneers Pheasant’s Tears and Artanuli Gvino in Georgia. These experiences equipped her with the skills she needed to return to the Loire Valley to start her own project, fueled by a love for pure farming and minimalist winemaking.

She currently farms 2.35 ha of rented vines from an assortment of parcels on the plateau above Monthou-sur-Bièvre, and supplements this with some purchased organic grapes. In 2021, due to historically low yields in the Loire Valley, Blandine, along with several other local vignerons, sourced some organic Grenache from the Gard region. In the cellar, she executes all vinifications via natural processes, with respect for the fruit, environment and final consumer. Fruit is meticulously harvested to ensure that only the healthiest and ripest grapes make the cut. All fermentations are done spontaneously with native yeasts, followed by aging in neutral wood, which allows the wines to breathe naturally. Only small amounts of sulfur are used at bottling, allowing the true terroir of the region and vintage to shine through in each cuvée produced.” 🇫🇷

🫐 LA HUPPE - 100% Grenache! A clear pale garnet color, aromas of framboise, violets, and nutmeg, and a lovely balance with elegant tannins and the acidity of freshly picked berries.

🌟 LORIOT - 100% Sauvignon Blanc! Nice round texture due to barrel aging and more red and yellow orchard fruit rather than citrus or grass.

🍒 ‘L’ESSENZIALE’ ROSSO DI VALTELINA - 100% Nebbiolo! Great drinkability and freshness both in the aromas and on the palate for this delicate wine. Satin smooth, cherry and light licorice, hint of gravel and red earth.

The grapes are spontaneously fermented during a 30-day maceration in stainless steel. The wine then completes malo in stainless where it ages for 12 months before bottling with minimal sulfurs.
