She’s onto something…

We just launched the I’ll-Have-What-He’s-Having Club, where we pull the bottles we’re most excited about every month—new arrivals, hard-to-find favorites, or just what we’re drinking at home. You can choose 3, 6, or 12 bottles a month for the three-month-long membership.

These wines are chosen by the same team you see in the shop (Camilla included): we’re the ones who know your taste, talk to producers, and love to nerd out about what’s on the shelf. We pick them because we can’t stop talking about them—and honestly, because we want to take them home too.

A few months ago, our Emanuele flew to Napa and Sonoma for his birthday to explore more of what California has to offer. One of his favorite stops? Rootdown Cellars by Mike Lucia. The wines were incredible—and now you’ll find Mike’s Trousseau at Pasanella. Missing a photo together, Mike—hope to see you here soon!

The classes are back—but with a twist.
This spring, we’re launching a brand new Wine World for Beginners series at Pasanella & Son—led by Francesco in our cozy, historic Enoteca. This isn’t just a repeat; it’s a refreshed journey through wine with new themes, new bottles, and the same no-snobbery approach.

Perfect if you’re curious about wine—or if you’ve ever wondered how people find rose petals or stone fruits in a glass and thought, “Wait… could I do that too?” (Spoiler: you can).

Each class dives into a different style, with wines from around the world, plus cheese, bread, and olives to snack on as we taste and learn together.

Class 1: The Tasting – April 30
Class 2: Whites & Oranges – May 7
Class 3: Reds – May 14
Class 4: Bubbles – May 21

$95 per class | 6:30–8PM | Limited spots

Happy St. Patrick’s weekend! 🍀 Our ties to Ireland run deep—Emanuele got his start in the retail world at , Ireland’s oldest wine merchant. So it only feels right to celebrate with Yellow Spot 12, a true Irish classic.
And yes, even our dog Camilla gives it her seal of approval.

Thrilled to have met the talented winemakers and her partner, Sylvain Martel ,during a lunch tasting last week! Anne-Sophie, originally from Champagne, has been redefining Beaujolais winemaking with her organically farmed vineyards in Fleurie, producing elegant Gamay wines that reflect her Burgundian training. Sylvain, after managing a small organic estate in the Ardèche and contributing to Domaine de Fa, embarked on his own project in 2018, cultivating old-vine Gamay in Juliénas. Their shared commitment to quality and terroir-driven wines is truly inspiring. We’re proud to carry Anne-Sophie’s exceptional wines and are excited to soon offer Sylvain’s creations as well. Stay tuned! 🍷

🍾 Look who’s visiting! Michelangelo couldn’t contain his giggles as we unpacked this treasure trove of Pierre Peters and Savart champagne. It’s not every day we get such a special allocation, and having our tiny VIP here makes it all the more special.
Francesco’s joy is twice as bright with his son sharing this moment, reminding us that some joys, like fine champagne and family, are timeless.

Up your Montepulciano d’Abruzzo game (if you have one 🙃), with De Angelis Corvi’s purer & more vibrant expression of an ever-lovable varietal. Hard to find a more versatile red. Certified organic & in the process of converting to Biodynamic too.

Just In: If Catherine Deneuve were a wine, she would be this elegant white from one of the best producers in France's Loire Valley. Oozing Gallic sangfroid, this timelessly chic Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from clay and limestone vineyards in Bué, Vinon and Crézancy. Crisp, clear & precise, bien sûr.

An Italian makes the world’s most collectible Scotch Whisky?
Silvano Samaroli was a legendary independent bottler who pioneered the cask-strength movement (bottling at the original high proof). Although the maestro died in 2017, Samaroli still continues to release critically-acclaimed whiskies made from special barrel selections, single & vatted blend malt combinations and then aged in multiple casks from various vintages. This meticulous—bordering on maniacal—attention to detail (Samaroli noted cask numbers, wood types, distillation dates etc.) is what makes this Italian firm’s spirits so iconic. At auction, Samaroli bottlings have sold for as much as £72,600! Pictured above is one of a total of 334 bottles of this particular Caol Ila release. So it’s exceedingly rare too.

Presidential taste has varied widely from Honest Abe (water, thank you) to Franklin Pierce (who over-indulged in everything until he died of cirrhosis). But there are some trends. Skipping over beer-drinkers like Obama (NY law prohibits us from selling beer), whiskey was the favored drink of many including Eisenhower, Harding & LBJ. Theodore Roosevelt sought out mint juleps made of rye. While William McKinley preferred his rye straight up. Taft, Grant, Tyler, Madison & Monroe all drank Champagne. FDR & JFK both enjoyed their cocktails. Outlier Calvin Coolidge had a yen for sweet Tokaji. Perhaps the most discriminating presidential oenophile was Thomas Jefferson, who loved Madeira, Burgundy & Bordeaux. Whatever your choice, raise a glass to a president this weekend.
