We can hardly contain our excitement for this unicorn of an alpine Nebbiolo from Dislivelli. Former architect turned renegade winemaker Gian Piero Ioli farms his 1 hectare of vines beyond organically, intervening as little as possible. His state-of-the-art cellar (where everything is done by hand) looks like something out of Star Wars. A far-cry from Barolo, this remarkable wine is lighter in color but not in intensity nor complexity - more perfumed, ethereal, and ever-evolving in the glass. Dominio del Águila’s ‘Pícaro Clarete’ is our pick for the eager summer sipper sophisticate. Hailing from Ribera del Duero, winemaker Jorge Monzón spent time both at DRC and Vega Sicilia. Join us for an evening of Mezcal! Our wine ethos at the shop has always been to hunt down honest producers and delicious bottles that showcase terroir and varietal typicity. So of course we love mezcal, because what other spirit follows that model so well? With a heavy heart, I wanted to let you know that my brother Billy passed away at home, surrounded by family, on November 10, 2022, from complications due to colon cancer. I felt it was important that you heard from me personally. I know many of you knew him well and had many interactions with him over the years as he served as our CFO and spiritual leader from 2009 to 2022. He was an integral part of our success and a huge reason why Manhattan Wine Company exists as it does today. Billy's extreme attention to detail and unwavering commitment to excellence lives on with us forever, and I will continue to pursue our dreams in his honor. Billy’s services will be next Monday, November 21st, at 1:00pm in Midlothian, VA.

To give our MWC family a day to celebrate Billy and be with family, we are closing both the Clifton warehouse and the Manhattan retail store on Monday, Nov 21st. The Clifton warehouse will also be closed Thursday and Friday (24th and 25th) for the holiday. The shop will also be closed on Thanksgiving day.

The picture was taken on the day we opened the shop in Manhattan in 2015. It was one of the happiest days of our lives. In less than a month, we'll open our 2nd wine storage facility in Ramsey, NJ - adding much needed storage capacity to our Clifton facility and enabling us to continue to grow with our customers. Billy would be so proud! Thank you for all your years of support.

is a new project in Abruzzo by Gaetano Carboni 🍷 We received a small allocation of the first commercial vintage in the US last year and we were incredibly impressed!

Gaetano’s vineyards have been certified organic since 2009 and his winery is located across the street from the famed Valentini cellar. ✨
