Created with the botanically curious in mind, every batch of Monkey 47 Distillers Cut gin is made with a different 48th ingredient. This time around the 48th botanical is Sweet Woodruff foraged from the Black Forest, near the distillery.
The 2022 Monkey 47 Distiller’s Cut (2nd pic) is a spicy and elegant dry gin that features delicate, almost ethereal top notes of cinnamon and vanilla. Dense and complex.

Robert Burns is regarded as Scotlands national poet. His literary endeavors have influenced a multitude of writers such as John Steinbeck, J.D. Salinger, and Bob Dylan. Burns Night is a holiday celebrated on his birthday (January 25th) in Scotland where people come together to have a traditional Scottish meal (complete with haggis) and toast to the immortal memory of the late bard. This is a collection of Scotch whisky from the areas surrounding where he was born in the Scottish Lowlands.

Sonoma Distilling is one of those distilleries that have flown under the radar for so many years. They were one of the first new craft distilleries in the country having been established in 2010. Over the past decade, they continue to make amazing whiskies. I love their cherry-wood smoked bourbon and rye whiskies.

This Cask Exclusive American Whiskey Explorer Club bottling is from 2016!! Lucky for you, we found a very limited supply in our way-back stock.
Our bourbon was aged in two barrels at the Oregon High Desert for four years with a mash bill of corn, wheat, rye and malted barely. The barrels of four year old C.W. Irwin Straight Bourbon were hand selected for their exceptional and unique flavor profile. This rendition is an intense tasting experience and will leave a lasting impression on your palate. At 50% ABV, it provides an initial alcohol punch on the nose, followed by pleasing aromas of vanilla, creme brûlée, clove, and kettle corn. When you indulge in your first sip, you will notice a complex flavor of sticky caramel corn, mellow campfire, and sappy pine that leaves your palate wanting more.

Nantou Distillery is located in the mountains of central Taiwan. Their copper pot stills were made by the famous manufacturer Forsyths in Scotland. They get thier grains from Scotland as well. Barrel aged 4-5 years in a sub-tropical, the angel's share is quite high. Due to climate, aging is acelerated 3X your typical Scottish distillery, such that Omar Single Malts drink similarly to a 12-15 year old Scotch

Cask North Beach is now temporarily closed. We opened up a year ago in the Devil's Acre bar space during the pandemic. It's time to give them their space back as they work towards opening up their indoor seating again. You can still visit us at our 3rd St and Berkeley locations. Penderyn Distillery is located in the foothills of Brecon Beacons in South Wales.
Celt is a single malt whisky finished in ex-peated quarter casks, bottled at 43% abv.
Mild aromas of peat smoke, early mor
Nose: Mild aromas of peat smoke, early morning at the rocky seaside and warm marmalade on toast all compete for our attention.
Palate: It begins with great sweetness before the smoky, slightly medicinal flavours descend.
Finish: Slight bitterness follows that leaves a long and lingering freshness in the mouth.

O is for Ohishi
------
Ohishi is the closest distillery to the source of the Kuma River. The Kuma River is one of the 3 fastest flowing in Japan and is renowned for its superior water quality. The Ohishi Distillery is blessed with fertile soil and clear underground water. They use 30% of rice grown in their own fields. It is “gohyakumanishi”( 5 million stones) rice. The rice is grown in Ubuyama Mura using an organic farming method that involves the use of koi carp to control weeds in paddy fields). They combine it with mochi rice from Kumamoto Prefecture as a main ingredient. With about 1200 Sherry and Brandy casks, Ohishi Distillery puts a lot of effort into maturing its products over a long period of time.

Happy Bottled In Bond Day! On March 3rd, 1897, Congress passed the Bottled in Bond Act. It was a hard-won victory that gave honest-to-goodness whiskey an indisputable mark of authenticity.

To be labeled Bottled in Bond, whiskey must be:
The product of one distillation season, from either January to June or July to December
Aged in a warehouse for at least four years
Bottled at 100 proof (U.S.)
Include the distillery at which it was made and bottled on the label

As the “Father of the Modern Bourbon Industry,” Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. threw his hat in the ring and led the charge for this legislation.
So join us as we raise a glass to the past and honor one of history’s most revered makers of straight bourbon whiskey.

N is for Noah’s Mill

M is for Mosswood
------
While plans for a fully functioning distillery are in progress, Mosswood rums are hand-picked from other distilleries though out the world, and brought back to the facility to be barrel aged and blended to create new and unique flavor profiles.
Mosswoods take on light rum, Day Rum is a four-times distilled molasses-based rum. They source the rum from Puerto Rico, and blend it with sourced Floridian Rum. These two rum varietals are brought to proof in red wine barrels, bourbon barrels, and neutral barrels, each used as a blending component for the final touches before bottling. Despite it being their "unaged" light rum, you will see a subtle golden hue to the spirit from our proofing techniques.

L is for Lagavulin

There have been distilleries at Lagavulin since the 18th century; though it wasn’t until 1816 that farmer John Johnston founded the first legal operation. A year later a second distillery appeared, this one run by Archibald Campbell. The two were united under a Glasgow trader, and in 1887, Peter Mackie arrived at the distillery, under whose guiding hand the distillery, and the name Lagavulin, was to become the last word in Islay malt.

Coming to us from the Willett distillery based out of Bardstown, KY. Willett has been distilling quality products since 1936. This is a robust, round whiskey that stands up to bourbons two to three times its price. On the nose, caramel, marzipan, and light oak spice. The palate is caramel wrapped cinnamon and peanuts. This is a bourbon-lover’s bourbon.

Islay is one of five whisky distilling regions of Scotland. Home to fan favorites such as Laphroaig, Lagavulin, and Ardbeg, there was up to 23 distilleries open on the island at one time.
In general, the whiskies from Islay are know for their peaty, smoky qualities with hints of salty sea air.

H is for High West
------
High West Distillery was founded in 2006 by David Perkins (a former biochemist) and his wife, Jane. Inspired by the parallels between the fermentation and distillation processes and his own work while visiting the Maker’s Mark distillery.
High West began with humble roots, opening a small, 250-gallon still and Saloon in an historic livery stable and garage and has since received numerous accolades and awards and is distributed internationally.

G is for Glenkinchie
------
Glenkinchie is just fifteen miles from the capital of Scotland, earning it the title “The Edinburgh Malt”. But it’s strange to think of that dark and distinguished city when you see fields of barley or the green Lammermuir Hills rolling north towards the Firth of Forth. Stranger still when you taste the subtle, floral flavour of this rare Lowland survivor.

A sweet soft start on teh palate, like crême anglaise, soon becoming flowery again. A really smooth delivery, especially after adding a drop of water. The mid-palate is crisp and then the flavour settles into a tightly focused bundle of butter icing, lemon cheesecake and freesias.

F is for Fuyu
------
Fuyu means "winter" in Japanese. This whisky was distilled from malted grain and mash corn on Honshu Island before resting in oak barrels. Its ruch flavors make it ideal for cocktails such as Old Fashioned and Manhattan.
Dark amber color with a playfully floral nose with hints of caramel and spice. Generous oak on the palate with a cooked fruit finish and just a hint of smokiness.

Within the past decade, Buffalo Trace has won more awards than any other distillery in the world, including an unmatched seven "Distillery of the Year" titles. Still American family owned and located in Franklin County, Kentucky. The distillery sprawls impressively over 130 acres. A masterfully crafted bourbon that is aged no less than ten years. The nose is complex, with aromas of toffee, hints of orange peel, herbs, honey, leather and oak. The taste is bold, dry and delicate, with notes of candied almonds, rich cocoa and a dry, lingering finish.
