Tomorrow come drink wine from Croatia, Transylvania & Serbia while chatting up our Sip & Savor guest of 🥂

Eric spent 15 plus years working in restaurants, two years studying and working abroad (Copenhagen and Rome), 6 years working at a European cabaret meets Vaudevillian circus, and a few harvest internships (including Donkey & Goat!). Then, in 2011 he was fortunate enough to be introduced to a pioneering importer of wines from Central and Eastern Europe called Blue Danube Wine Company.

This was followed by 8 years of building the Bay Area into the largest sales channel for the company, managing parts of the portfolio, traveling to the regions, and feeding an inexplicable urge to learn as much about the people, places and wines as possible. Co-founding Danch & Granger Selections in 2019 is a chance to put all of this together and see what comes next.

Eric will be pouring an NV Edgar Brutler Sisu (Grünspitz) from Transylvania, a 2021 Negotians Vinarius Plavac from the Island of Korčula, Croatia, and a 2022 Ozkár Maurer Red Fruit November (Cabernet Sauvignon) from Fruška Gora, Serbia.

Pair these wines with our new charcuterie items & cheeses and hang with us awhile. We look forward to having you 🥂

Tomorrow we welcome Derrick Harrison Jr.,brand ambassador for , who will be pouring 3 of his favorites for our Sip & Savor guest pour series! Read on for details about the Matthiasson ethos 🥂

Winemaking, for us, is a natural extension of farming. We have both worked for many years in the sustainable agriculture and local food movement, and in 2003 we started Matthiasson Wines based on those values — purity, sense of place, respect, responsibility, deliciousness. Our wines are classical expressions of different grape varieties, some well-known like Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, and some rare like Ribolla Gialla and Refosco. The deeply flavorful wines are refreshing, complement food, and are moderate in alcohol. Our small family winery is fiercely independent, no partners or investors, just the vision of Jill and Steve and a hard-working and passionate team. Our independence allows us to farm organically, with no compromises in the vineyard or the winery, creating the beautiful wines for which we are known.

We have delicious cheese and charcuterie to pair with the tasting, and look forward to welcoming you 🥂

Tonight, come taste delicious wines with us and meet Emily of 🥂

Osa Major Wines is a one woman enterprise - from trucking grapes to selling bottles and everything in between. Winemaker and owner Emily Fernwood spent the years after college traveling and working harvest gigs the world over, from California and Oregon to Australia and New Zealand, until founding Osa Major Wines in 2020.

As a Bay Area native, the time felt right to return home and explore the incredible variety of geology and history that can be found in the vineyards in some of our state’s unique known and lesser known wine regions, while crafting wines that explore a lighter and brighter side of California winemaking.

She will be pouring her 2022 Tocai Friulano, 2022 Rosado, and 2022 Mourvedre. And our NEW cheese pairing menu is live in the tasting room 🥂

This week we roll into Harvest 2024! This means our tasting room is filled with production, juice is flowing, grapes are being transported and sometimes foot stomped and you can watch all of the action from our wine bar 🥂

On Thursday come celebrate our kick off of harvest season with live music by , incredible eats by and and happy hour pricing all night long🥂

A portion of the proceeds from the evening will be donated to KEF, a foundation that provides enrichment programs for students at Hilltop Elementary where our Operations Director Cliffs’ daughter attends school!

Our guest winemakers are driving down from Napa to meet you and pour their incredible wines tonight! Are you coming?

Belong and Paper Planes are two family wine companies with distinct yet complementary stories. Sourcing from vineyard sites from the Sonoma Coast to El Dorado County, they came together in Napa where they made their wines at the same winery. Realizing their shared passion for crafting exceptional wines that exemplify the spirit of exploration and community, Belong and Paper Planes are partnering on a variety of endeavors that inspire meaningful connections over wine.

Belong Wine Co. was launched in 2017 with just one ton of fruit and an enormous dream shared by husband and wife team Bertus and Alli van Zyl. Their mission is to make adventurous wines from places with untold stories. Focused on high-elevation vineyards from El Dorado County, they specialize in Mourvèdre (rosé, carbonic, and red) and craft a variety of other small-lot wines made with love and a light touch. (fun fact - Connor was a part of their first 3 vintages!)

Born during a dinner party in Los Angeles in 2014, Paper Planes is a first generation, crowdfunded wine company by Laura and Kyle Gabriel. Known for their fresh expressions of Pinot Noir (rosé, red, and cans), along with lesser known varieties like Grenache, Valdiguié, and Nero d’Avola. They produce a variety of lively, low-intervention wines from the best vineyards across the Sonoma Coast + beyond.

This is going to be a special night paired with Lily’s menu ! We start at 6pm, but open at 2 so come early and stay late 🥂

TONIGHT, we’re delighted to welcome Danny Sullivan of Makasi Wines as our Guest Winemaker! Purchase a $10 glass of D&G wine for entry, and enjoy free splashes of Danny’s wines, including a 2019 Bazzano Vineyard Chardonnay, 2020 Hogan’s Run Vineyard Rose of Pinot Noir, 2019 Siletto Vineyard Chardonnay, and a 2021 Pinot Noir from Saveria Vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Winemaker Danny Sullivan has been prolifically making wines for over 10 years for household names, small private labels, and clients’ personal collections. After many successful launches for others, he’s now doing it on his terms to create exceptional wine for you. Growing up one of six kids, Danny learned early on to be a good sharer. Sharing in the Makasi wine love as partners and strategists are his little brother, Tommy Sullivan, and big sister, Maureen Sullivan.

Makasi is a boutique winery, offering only what they can produce in their attentive and nurturing way. With a lot of help from friends, they procure a modest collection of fantastic grapes grown in the right place and picked at the right time, and do their best to support them in blooming into splendid wines. Though they adhere to a policy of responsible sustainability, they are more deeply guided by the simple notion of, “Do no harm.” The only impact they seek is upon your palate.

TONIGHT : Come taste through the new wines by under his own label ! These 2 beauties are from Lodi, CA home to the most recently launched Greco Bianco 2023 by as well🥂 Read more below about these grapes and Jared’s process :

Fernow Ranch, a 16.5-acre property nestled along the Mokelumne River, has been practicing organic farming for four decades. In 2018, my friend Jake DesVoignes planted Greco and Fiano for me.  I picked these grapes for their ability to retain acid in a warmer environment.  Jake’s approach to vineyard management is both sustainable and innovative, utilizing a solar-powered irrigation system and employing drones to distribute beneficial insects.

At harvest, we hand-picked the Fiano grapes, which I then whole-cluster pressed immediately upon return to Berkeley. Fermentation occurred naturally with indigenous yeasts in neutral French oak barrels. Following a low-intervention philosophy, I left the wine largely undisturbed, only topping up as necessary. I added a minimal 25ppm of SO2 at bottling to stabilize the wine. This method resulted in a wine that clearly expresses the characteristics of Fernow’s unique terroir.   The Greco was made in a similar fashion.  

My good friend Jane Fisher did the artwork for me, and she created the original illustration for the first Donkey & Goat label.

This weeks summer forecast is perfect for hangin’ in our wine garden, feet up & glass of bubbly in hand 🥂

Thursday we bring you our very own pouring his wine label for the Sip & Savor guest pour. Come taste his Fiano and Greco Bianco from Fernow Ranch in Lodi, CA.

Friday our good friend and excellent pop-up foodie has an incredible menu to pair with our happy hour from 4pm til we close 🥂

And all weekend long, we are waiving our outside food fee which means you can bring your picnic, and we will supply all the wines and bubbles to go with 🥂

The first heatwave of the summer is here, but we’ve got a coastal breeze that blows through our backyard which makes it the ideal place to escape when you don’t have A/C 🧊

It is our second time welcoming to pour in the tasting room. Ed and Ted were one of the very first to kick off our Sip & Savor events last year, and they are back tonight with killer wines, a special menu by & and live DJ tunes by ! Don’t miss this party 🥂

“It’s our filial responsibility to honor and carry on the traditions of our parents.” Ed Buchanan and Ted Grantham started making wine in 2009 when Ted’s father, Ray Grantham, donated 500 lbs of his Humboldt County Pinot Noir grapes to them and said here’s how I make wine, now you give it a try.

The vineyard we now farm was originally planted in the early 1970’s by Ray, who has instilled his passion for The Land, as well as for making the wine that comes from it. We now honor that Filial tradition, continuing it with our wives, children, and friends, to make the best wine we can and share it.

As garagiste winemakers, literally working out of a garage in Oakland, we’ve had the pleasure of making wine from various vineyards in Amador, Santa Cruz, Mendocino and Sonoma Counties, having fun with various varietals and expressions of place, only minimally altered by our ever-learning hands. Like the winemakers we admire so much, we’re just crushing grapes, watching them ferment and letting them rest in barrel or tank until we get to share them with you!

We’ll be pouring a 2021 Anderson Valley Pinot Noir, Valley Foothills Vineyard, a 2022 Grenache Noir from Tehama County and a 2023 Rose of Pinot Noir also from Valley Foothills Vineyard in Anderson Valley.

Kristie Tacey owner and winemaker of is here tomorrow for our Thursday pour, and she makes some killer wines! She’s also our new neighbor on the as of April, and last year made a few of her vintages on site here at winery.

Kristie is a scientist turned winemaker that loves embracing the cycle and charm of each vintage. She is also a monthly DJ on KXSF and loves bringing musical tributes into her blends.

With a background in microbiology, Kristie is fascinated by the cycle of life; each vintage of Tessier wines captures and reflects one year in the lives of the vineyards she works with. She sources high-quality fruit from a strong network of farmers in the Anderson Valley, Santa Cruz Mountains, Arroyo Seco, and El Dorado foothills. She then uses minimal-interventionist winemaking techniques to showcase the unique characteristics of the grapes and the vineyards. For Kristie, sustainability is a priority — not only with the vineyards’ farming practices, but also by having long-term relationships with her growers and customers. These small production wines, an annual production of 1400 cases, get unparalleled attention.

Kristie will be pouring the vintage she made at DG: 2023 Grenache Blanc, 2023 Grenache Rose’, 2023 Electric Ladyland and 2023 Gamay! The first 2 wines of which are only available in her tasting room. Pair this tasting with epic food by and stay ‘til the sun goes down, and then some.

Family owned and operated by lifelong winegrowers, Perlegos Family Wines focuses on California grown, Mediterranean inspired varieties and blends. Their mission is to craft wines of finesse and elegance, that are made to be enjoyed with friends, family, and food. Varieties include Assyrtiko, Nero d’Avola, Old Vine Zinfandel, Cinsaut + blends like their Red Wine Blend (Merlot, Cinsault, Carignan), Duetto (Nero d’Avola, Zinfandel), and Magna Graecia (Chardonnay, Assyrtiko, Vidiano).
