Human scale wine, Mountain scale delight

Alpine Wines are the UK's key importer, distributor and merchant of wines from the Alpine regions. Our thing is heroic wines from the mountain valleys and along the major rivers coming out of the Alps: the Rhone, Rhine and Danube. We have the best and widest selection and hard to beat knowledge. And we make these wines available both to the trade and direc

tly to individual customers, with no minimum order. They're not a number to squeeze, they're people we like and respect. I've chosen them, obviously, for the quality of their wines. But also because they are thoughtful. They make different choices each - organic, sustainable, biodynamic, natural, or not - but they all think deeply about the choices they make, and keep questioning. They want their landscape to thrive for centuries to come. They would like their grandchildren to be able to live from winemaking, should they wish to. They want their wines to create memorable moments for people around the world. I want them to keep making fantastic wines in beautiful places for us and our children after us to keep enjoying. And once you've tasted those wines, so will you.

A few days enjoying the sights, sounds and flavours of Valtellina. Wish you were here!
The highlights as always are the high valleys, spectacular vineyards and the wines of Mamete Prevostini.

I feel a bit like a broken record this week as everyone asks the same questions all involving the N word:
Yes, our Beaujolais Nouveaux have landed at our warehouse in time.
Yes, the preorder should be with our faithful customers on the day, if couriers do their job. Even to Northern Ireland.
Yes, the wines are also on their way to good wine merchants and clued up restaurants up and down the country, in time to be sold at midnight French time should they be that crazy.
Yes, you can still buy some. The Nouveau is sold out but there's some cases left of the Rosé Nouveau and the Villages Nouveau sans sulfites. Only by the full case until the day - if you only want a bottle, visit our excellent stockists or wait until the "reserve buffer" is put on the site.

It's only a month later than usual (my excuse is I was visiting winemakers) but the Beaujolais Nouveau preorder IS NOW LIVE. https://www.alpinewines.co.uk/special-offers/nouveau It's a challenging year due to the wet summer so quantities will be small, it's more essential than ever that you preorder.

Remember to log in to get the preorder rebate

(for trade customers you can also log in to order, or talk to Tim, it's nicer!)

PS: the price increase is essentially the new cost of logistics, and this year we'll need premium express transport to pull it off

3 different ones this year - the two favourite classics, and to add a bit of fun, the pink one - at preorder price, around 14% off (you must log in to get that price)Please be aware this was the most difficult year in recent memory - frost, hail, and a rotten wet June and July. A few snaps of our quick visit to Beaujolais this July - some wines tasted and ordered then are already here - from Philippe Deschamps, Franck Bessone and from Domaine de la Milleranche - because they had sold out already!

That would be Lucile Maud, Beaujolais Villages, Chénas, La Rochelle, the Beaujolais Rosé, Juliénas - Plus two NEW Beaujolais Blancs, both beautiful Chardonnays, each very different.

The rest - oodles of it - will come in November

Our Story

Human scale wine, Mountain scale delight Connected by mountain passes and rivers, the Alpine regions of Switzerland, Austria, Germany, France and Italy, share much across languages and borders. Especially a culture of wine. And we make these wines available both to the trade and directly to individual customers, with no minimum order. What are you waiting for? Whether you are searching for wines you love, or ones to discover; whether you seek a special bottle for an anniversary, a case to thank colleagues, or a mountain of wine for a wedding; whether you buy once a year or twice a month, or only ever come to events: we want you in our Alpine tribe
