The lineup is incredible. The 1910 Old Fine Whisky & 1920 Prohibition Style are two of my all-time favorite pours. Both are delicious and quite unique.

But what happens if you mix them & create a “1915” blend?

Verdict: It’s worth having both of these bottles on hand and I definitely suggest giving the “1915” a try. It’s a solid blend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. That said, I actually prefer these two as stand alone pours. 1910 & 1920 are so distinct and delicious in their own right that I’ll probably keep enjoying them the way the good folks at intended!

Reckon Old Fashioneds are a thing of the past? Bourbon sours leave you… well, sour? Does the thought of Manhattans make you sign “oh man” and reach to put your hat on? (That one was a bit of a stretch). Allow us then to acquaint you with Four Roses, specifically their single barrel iteration. We’re sure you’ll be the best of friends in no time.

A little extra rye and a 50% ABV gives a delicious punch, with a nose or baking spices, toffee, chocolate, apples and fresh popcorn. Sweet, rich and potent on the palate, with more fruits coming in to say hello- in particular a much welcomed note of cherry. Chocolatey and caramel like on the finish, which seems to go on for weeks. A perfect bourbon for all the classic cocktails, as it seems to handle anything you throw at it with grace and style- particularly Manhattans, which bourbon sometimes struggles with but is helped along by the aforementioned sprinkling of rye.

The brightest and the best of you will infer that the stuff that makes its way into each bottle is drawn from a Single Barrel, with each barrel only filling approximately 180 bottles. Due to the unpredictable nature of aging whisky, this means that each bottle you purchase, unless you happen upon a batch from the same barrel as your last purchase, will be different on a scale ranging from subtle to surprising. Luckily, the base recipe is so delicious that any deviations only ever really seem to enhance rather than detract from what is a really quite delicious drop.
