WINERY WEDNESDAY: DIWALD IN MAY! 🍷
Since the first time we met Martin and Ulli, we were in awe of their wines & their humble approach to all aspects of their winery. From vine management to winery management to wine making.
We loved how the importance of the wines were focused largely on the grapes and terroir. Incorporating sheep to graze certain plots and minimal intervention on wine making, we end up with wines tasting incredibly true to the land.

From the village of Grossriedenthal, Wagram Austria, Diwald was founded in1976. Organic farming has always been the foundation of the winery’s activities, with biodynamic winemaking becoming part of their philosophy in 2023. Their trust in nature, the joy when working in the vineyards and the passion for making something extraordinary out of their grapes. Diwald creates wines that say a lot about their origins - Honest, authentic and full of life.

WINERY WEDNESDAY! 🍷 XXVI TALHAS
Born by a group of friends in Vila Alva, who came together to create XXVI Talhas. They grew up watching our family members produce Talha wine and have a great passion for this tradition. This project, an old dream, is born with the aim of dignifying the Talha wine produced in Vila Alva.

Alentejo is where the tradition of Talha wine production was introduced by the Romans, it has remained until today and they feel the responsibility to continue it.
•
It was the combination of the number of Talhas in their cellar (26) with the Roman origin of this type of winemaking that led us to name our project “XXVI Talhas”.

WINERY WEDNESDAY! 🍷
Migliarina Wines was founded by Carsten Migliarina in 2002 when he produced his first wine under his own label. Starting very small, the first production consisted of a Sauvignon Blanc and a Shiraz, both from Franschhoek. The Shiraz was matured in a friends garage! 🤯
Since then, The Migliarina Wines range has expanded considerably. Currently cultivars include Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Grenache, Riesling and Shiraz. Grapes are sourced from around the Western Cape and wine is produced in rented cellar space in two different boutique cellars.

Elegant clean wines are the hallmark of the Migliarina brand. All wines are individually hand crafted from some of the best vineyards in the Cape region with exceptional care being taken in preserving varietal and fruit character. Keeping it simple in the cellar with minimum intervention is the basis for ensuring that the wines are fruit driven and elegant.

Celebrating the last weekend of International women’s month with GRAVAS! Part of the Jewel’s collection from , Isabel Mitarakis Guilisasti is one of the most influential young winemakers in the
Chilean wine industry. She has broad experience working in wine harvests abroad, including the harvest process in Berlucchi, Franciacorta, Italy, and at Fetzer Vineyards, Mendocino Valley, California, USA.
In 2012, she collaborated with Château Mouton Rothschild, Bordeaux, France, where she
joined the team responsible for the winemaking processes and visited wineries in Médoc
and St. Émilion.
In 2013, she joined the Don Melchor team as an assistant winemaker for the icon
Cabernet Sauvignon from Alto Maipo.
In 2019, she took over as the lead winemaker for Gravas, where she has imprinted
her passionate vision upon the Andean wine production process.

Women of the Month features: Erica Crawford! 🇳🇿 She is the founder of one of New Zealand’s biggest export brands, active member of the Global Women NZ Advisory Board, an organization which works to expand the influence of women and helps to shape and mentor emerging leaders. She holds a number of directorships, both in the wine industry and in other sectors. & of course the founder of .

Hailing from South Africa, she began working as a med rep until she attended a wine festival and met a kiwi called Kim. Long story short, she packed up and made the move to NZ.
Soon after building the Kim Crawford brand from scratch, it exploded with succession & they sold it in 2006. Then made her triumphant return with LOVEBLOCK! 🤎
With Loveblock, Erica is commited to wine organics. Moving with the flow of the rhythm of the seasons and land demands submission. The results of their labour stem from the what the land provides and shows in her wines.

WOMEN OF WINE March feature: 🇬🇪
The country of Georgia is now considered the birthplace of wine as recently unearthed wine making artifacts are more than 8,000 years old — these are the oldest wine making remains in the world! And culturally speaking, specific regions within Georgia such as Kakheti, Kartli, Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi, Svaneti and Abkhazia are famous wine making places; legends and recorded history document centuries of continual wine making. Vessels discovered in the Anaklia region have proven Georgians were making wine in the Neolithic era in a manner that would be familiar even today.

Baia and her younger siblings — Gvantsa (Sister) and Giorgi (Brother) were born and raised in Obcha in a friendly, traditional family of winemakers. They spent a happy childhood watching how parents and grandparents were involved in the diverse winemaking processes. Children were also allowed to arrange their own small farm with vineyards, greens, household animals and plantations, and spent their free time exploring the wonders of nature. At that time, the Abuladze family traditionally produced wine using Imeretian technology — the maceration process (soaking the juice of the grape with the skins and sometimes also the stems) was shorter and only 5-10% of grape skin was used during fermentation in Qvevri.

After graduating from college, Baia moved to the capital city of Tbilisi to continue her studies, however she did not find the intense urban life interesting and so after agronomical university she returned to her small town of Obcha where she has been actively promoting the wines of Imereti and growing her family winery.

From Mittelburgenland, Austria, Oscar Szemes is a 3rd generation wine maker who is destined to have his name up in the wine scene. His father, Tibor Szemes who passed on too soon, created ‘ARACHON T.FX.T’ the famed Austria red made by three acclaimed Austrian winemaking friends from three different wine producing regions in Austria came together: Tibor Szemes, F.X. Pichler and Manfred Tement.

Oscar very early on took over the family winery with his sister Anna and continued his father’s legacy and follow in his footsteps. Oscar took over responsibility for the cellar and within a short time he demonstrated his special understanding of wine.He was able to expand their existing wine selection that quickly proved to be a success.

That being said, we’re stoked to be hosting Oscar in Singapore this coming March and what better way to experience his wines than a wine-pairing dinner!

100% Semillon. The fruit comes from two famous Semillon vineyards. Trevena Vineyard was planted in 1920 on sandy loam soils, these unirrigated vines are situated on Hermitage Road Pokolbin. Somerset Vineyard in Pokolbin, planted in 1969 on sandy clay loam. Hand-picked and fermented in stainless steel.
