The Akkeshi Distillery
The dunnage format is used in Akkeshi's two on-site maturation warehouses. A third warehouse, located near the shore, was completed with an advanced racking system. They expect the maritime aromas in the air to affect the characteristics of their whisky as they look out over Akkeshi Bay. They use not only bourbon and sherry casks for whisky maturation, but also Japanese oak casks, which are hard to come by.

The Akkeshi Distillery
Akkeshi's tale started in 2013, when the company tested its first batch of whiskeys before building its distillery in 2015. It began mass distillation in 2016 and finished its second storage and aged warehouse in 2017. It proudly announced the launch of its first product, the New Born Foundation 1, as well as the completion of its third warehouse in 2018.
