Damm this is good! Unctuous and refined all at the same time. Hate to say it but this wine should really cost more when you look at what its rivals are charging for a whole lot less.

Thank God for building the Spanish so they don’t rush things. This wine is going to end up being a perfect representation of what Rioja can do. Already sensational and only two years after release!

Evolving well. More translucent than I would expect from this part of burg. Lots of time under the hood.

Brilliantly balanced nose and palate. Soothing and even temperament. Loads of time to run. A bargain of a wine if you had kept it.

Have had lots of hits and misses over the last ears but this one nails it on the phenolics. A bit lean and acidic on the palate but will revisit in an hour or two.

1950 back in the day when the French didn’t sue anybody for using the word “burgundy”. The faintest suggestion of fruit like grandma after her second martini. Unctuous, indulating and soft. I hope I hold up this well at 74!

Would have been a monster on release. Starting to evolve and certain becoming more malleable but not feeling it. Not sure where the event horizon will be.
