Bowmore 38 Years Old Oloroso Cask from 1964 - The Trilogy Series – 🥃

The legendary trilogy series from the Islay distiller Bowmore was originally released in 2003. A bottling of a single cask, part of the same batch of Oloroso casks that produced Black Bowmore. This bottle was released along with the Fino and Bourbon expressions which can also be found at our website.

Milk and Honey on The Duchess Caroni Cask
SPECIALLY SELECTED FOR THE DUCHESS

After The Duchess released its 21 years old Caroni back in 2019, an empty Rum Cask became available. This was the reason for Tel Aviv distillery Milk & Honey to get in touch. It only took a couple of emails to come to an understanding, that the ex Caroni cask would be destined to age a new make single malt spirit in.

It was late 2022 when head distiller Tomer Goren contacted The Duchess again with one simple and clear message:
"I shouldn't wait any longer, its perfect now!"

We now have this limited release from M&H distillery available, released exclusively for the Dutch market. Aged on an ex-Caroni cask only 166 bottles have been filled at cask strength. Make sure to get this very limited bottle added to your collection.

Teeling limited release for The Duchess
15 YEARS OLD AMBURANA SINGLE CASK 6210

Today we can proudly release a limited edition from Teeling Whiskey Distillery. This Irish distillery has been in our spotlight for some time now. Established in 2012, they have taken the world by storm with their extremely well-crafted whiskeys as well as their unique cask management.

During a visit to the Teeling distillery our attention was captured by a couple of very unique casks that seemed to differ from the other ones. Driven by curiosity we inquired after these whiskeys and were told that these were Amburana casks, made from tropical oak. We sampled one of them and immediately fell in love with the expression of the wood from these unique casks. When the first Amburana cask appeared as a distillery release, The Duchess was already considering a limited release, and were easily convinced when they found out that one of these casks was an option!

We can now offer this stunning release as a Best of Whiskies exclusive.

Blind Tasting Competition 2021
A LIMITED NUMBER OF PLACES AVAILABLE

After a very successful edition last year, we have decided to once again organize the Blind Tasting Competition for the second consecutive year.

Though 2021 has been a tough year for the world of whisky, with only few releases, shortages on certain distilleries that increased in popularity and of course the Brexit resulting in more difficulties with acquiring Scottish single malts, our team has once again made a wonderful flight, that will not only be a competition, but also a personal journey through Scotland's single malt whiskies.

Make sure to join the Blind Tasting Competition
Participation price €49,- (ex. VAT).

HOW DOES THE COMPETITION WORK?

Just like in the previous edition, you will be competing against whisky lovers from around the world. Every day you will need to decide what dram you have in your glass, judging them based on four aspects:
• Distillery
• Region
• Age
• Alcohol percentage

By the end of each day (22:00 CET) the whisky will be revealed and the scores will be calculated.

PARTICIPATE
To participate you only have to order your sample box. Through your profile page, you will have the possibility of joining the competition and entering your guesses.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

You will receive a sample box with 12 whisky samples. These are not your everyday whiskies, but limited editions or single cask whiskies. Not only will you join a competition, but you will have the unique possibility of trying some once-in-a-lifetime whiskies this way!

On top of that, the first, second and third place in the competition will receive a coupon which they can spend on Bestofwines.com
