Favourite Beers opened on Friday 8th October 2010 as the only specialist Beer and Cider outlet in Gloucestershire. It has quickly established itself as the regional centre for beer and cider lovers from a much larger region. Their recent installation of ten craft keg taps and regular Friday Evening beer clubs has seen it also become one of the trendiest places to drink in the area. This is a famil

y business, which has been run since they opened by Leigh Norwood and his daughter Rosie Ferner - Rosie is taking over the reins in 2021 although Leigh will still be around. Both are passionate about the products they sell and are keen to spread the word (and the taste) of the excellent beers, ciders, wines and meads that are now available from a host of breweries and producers up and down the country. Favourite Beers has an ever changing range of over 500 UK craft and traditional beers, a large range of international beers featuring over 120 from Belgium and an expanding range of excellent German, US and other European beers. We also carry a range of local ciders, English wines and meads. The range of UK beers permanently features a growing number from breweries within the local region and this is supplemented by an ever changing selection from around the country. Their beers are available to buy individually or in bulk and they also have a number of gift package options (ideal for presents – as are their Gift vouchers). Over the years they have regularly hosted a multitude of in-store events including ‘Tutored Tasting Evenings’ and ‘Meet The Brewer’ events. A special thanks goes out to Noel & Tom though who came up from Bristol to help us launch our collab with & have a chat with everyone - and of course our lovely Rep Adam who made this collab happen. Unfortunately he was unable to make it due to being poorly 😢

🍻 Meet The Brewer 🍻

Yes, we have FINALLY managed to get another ‘Meet The Brewer’ event booked in.
This time with one of the rising stars of the Craft Beer world, the excellent Green Duck Beer Co. from Stourbridge.

Founded in 2013, they produce cask, keg and canned beers featuring a great core range and monthly pale and dark specials. We have been stocking their superb cans for a few years now and they been incredibly popular.

Tickets at £15 will be available from TODAY (when the shop opens).
As per usual, tickets will be able to exchanged on the night for £5 worth of Green Duck beers.

Remember, tickets are only available from the shop & please don’t fall for any scammers commenting with ‘tickets available’!

🍺 New Beer 🍺

The latest release from the fabulous millsbrewing has arrived.

• Pils - 6% - Pils is brewed solely in the depths of a Gloucestershire winter, working with the cold weather to aid an ambient-temperature lager yeast driven primary fermentation in our open coolship.

The pale wort is made from barley, oats, and whole-leaf European hops.

After around ten days open fermentation in our coolship, the young beer is transfered to large oak casks for a secondary fermentation and lagering period with our indigenous wild yeast and bacteria, until warmer months. The long winter lagering naturally clarifies the beer as it matures.

Finally, the beer is dry-hopped with whole-leaf hops and bottle conditioned for several months before release.

We are so gutted to announce that our Event with .and.baker_, Harts Barn Cookery School & Star Bistro as part of Gloucestershire Beer Week next week has had to be cancelled 😭

This isn’t a decision that has been taken lightly, but due to low ticket sales we’ve had no other option.

We absolutely love working with Chef Joe, and we know how incredible his food is. We were extremely shocked that ticket sales were so low, especially after the success of previous events with him.

We will always continue to support and advocate for Joe, and his incredible food and highly recommended everyone visit him at Harts Barn Cookery School, even better, book onto one of his incredible workshops he does there!

To celebrate a decade brewing beautiful beer in Bristol, we will have their six birthday beer releases, created with six of the UK’s finest breweries. 12 years ago today, we first turned around our ‘Open’ sign! It feels great to still be doing it 12 years later! We’d like to thank everyone who has supported us over the years, we wouldn’t be here without you all. It hasn’t been easy at time, like for any small business but we are so proud of what we have created and love being apart of this fantastic industry. We’ve still got plenty of our DEYA Brewing Company collaboration available. On keg and can - with a few special offers on it. A Hoppy American Brown Ale - many specialty malts give layers of biscuit, toast and caramel sweetness. UK hops in the whirlpool for pithy orange and berry character. Idaho 7 & Simcoe on the dry hop for ripe tropical fruit and light pine notes 😋 😋 Available in the shop - On Tap, in can and we have a couple of deals on 4 & 6 packs! We are really pleased with the beer, and we hope you love it too!

Today we were lucky enough to head back to DEYA Brewing Company to watch our collaboration brew be canned (and taste it 😋). Their canning machine is an impressive bit of kit! We can’t wait for you all to taste the beer too! Just 10 days to go until the launch!! Huge thanks to Ben for today and of course to everyone at DEYA Brewing Company for agreeing to do this special collaboration for the shops 12th Birthday and letting us be part of the whole process! 🍻
