Scapegrace Fortitude | Limited Release V

This limited-release number 5 'Fortitude' - is a single malt from New Zealand’s Scapegrace distillery. This release has been created with Manuka smoked malted barley, it was then matured in small 100-litre virgin French oak casks for a minimum of three years. Expect noted of smoked pears, liquorice and dried cranberries. Bottled at 46% ABV.

Glen Garioch 34 Year Old | 1988 Vintage

Founded in 1797, Glen Garioch Distillery is one of Scotland’s oldest distilleries, sitting just outside the town of Oldmeldrum in Aberdeenshire’s fertile barley plains. After a period of closure, it was revived in the 1970s. This release is one of 202 bottles, and is bottled at 45.4%. As with all releases in the Berry Brothers & Rudd exclusive cask range, this is presented all natural colour with no chill-filtration.

NEW | Lindores Abbey, The Casks of Lindores II - STR Wine Barrique

This is the second release in the The Casks of Lindores series, which explores the three core casks the Lowland distillery uses; Bourbon, sherry, and STR (shaved, toasted, and re-charred) wine casks. In this edition, only STR casks from Spain and Portugal were used to mature the spirit. This is the oldest general release single malt from the distillery to date, bottled at 49.4% ABV.

RyeLaw InchDairnie Distillery
Inaugural Release 🌾🥃

InchDairnie distillery is located in the town of Kinglassie, Fife. The distillery is known for its modern approach to whisky-making, incorporating advanced technology and techniques to create unique and high-quality spirits.

It uses a mash filter press system to extract more sugars from the grain, resulting in a higher yield of alcohol and a more efficient process.

The first inaugural release from InchDairnie Distillery is RyeLaw, which is made of 53 per cent malted rye and 47 per cent malted barley; it is then fermented using a rye-specific yeast, which results in lower yields, but higher flavour and then double distilled in pot stills. Finally it is matured for 5 years in charred new oak casks, created from trees that can be traced back to forests in the Ozark Mountains, USA.

Whilst we would normally reach straight for a robust with our beef, the layers of the champagne, combined with the fine bubbles, can work very well with the juicy and succulent texture of a lightly cooked joint. Vintage Champagne holding up especially well.

A limited-edition whisky here from Morrison Distillers, this Mac-Talla single malt was released in celebration of the 2023 Feis Ile festival in Islay. Distilled at an undisclosed Islay distillery, this expression was matured in ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry casks creating a balance of sherried-sweetness and smoke. Non-chill filtered and natural colour, bottled at 54.6% ABV.

Here we have the 10th batch of Glengoyne's excellent cask strength release. This single malt has been matured in combination of refill, ex-bourbon and first-fill oloroso sherry casks. It bottled without chill filtration at a hearty 59.5% ABV. It is jam packed in sweet spice, nutty malt, honeyed fruit and vanilla.

For this release the Lowland distillery have carefully selected Ruby Port, Tawny Port, STR barriques and first-fill Bourbon barrels, with a much higher proportion of port casks unlike the first release.

Lochlea Distillery’s seasonal small batch releases showcase the signature Lochlea style in four different ways each year. As a working farm, these expressions tie in to reflect the farming calendar.

NEW RELEASE FROM @stillwaterwhisky | This sophomore single cask release from Stillwater Whisky Co. comes from the North of Scotland Distillery. Fondly remembered as producing some of the finest Grain whisky in all of Scotland; the distillery was sadly closed back in 1980 and confined to the annals of whisky history. Now after an extended maturation of over half a century, this bottling uses a single hogshead cask laid down in December of 1971; this cask was bottled in 2022 as a tribute to this now silent distillery. This is one of only 392 bottles; bottled at a cask strength of 42.2% abv. As with all Stillwater releases, it is presented un-chill filtered and all natural colour.
