It’s our 10th birthday today. 🥂 When the first customer walked in and chatted with me for a while before leaving with a bottle of Fino, I knew we’d found our home. Thank you Bristol for your continued support, it never fails to amaze us. Thank you Howard Eldridge for all the support getting it open.

In celebration we’ve just had a new look with the help of Dapper Signs and the one and only Kenny Lacey.

It’s been a fantastic decade getting to know all our neighbours and customers. Here’s to another 10 years.

Between isolating and holiday sadly we’ve been forced to close this week. Back open Monday 26th October by which time I’ll have stopped staring at the Dujac and opened it.

Almost five weeks since we closed the doors. Your support over this time has been overwhelming and very much appreciated. We’ve been flat out trying to get to you all and really appreciate your patience and flexibility. As this situation looks set to continue for some time we will continue to take orders for delivery or collection via email : [email protected] or on 01179248718 Tues-Fri 11am -6pm. We will be open again when the time is right, and look forward to seeing you all then, but for now I’m sharing some of my ‘lockdown’ wines.

For now we will continue to be closed. It isn’t possible to operate on a solo basis and two or more staff can’t realistically keep a distance from each other. I will continue to take email orders etc but please be aware that I’m two or three days behind at the moment. Be patient I will get to you. Thanks so much for all the support. x

We’ve considered this carefully over the weekend and all agree we must close the doors until further notice. We’ll return as soon as we can and it’s safe to do so. In the meantime ordering details are attached.

Hello friends,

We have been amazed and grateful for your support during this strange week, and been frantically boxing up cases for delivery.

Some new housekeeping guidelines;

We are restricting customers in the shop to 4 at a time

We politely ask that you keep 2 m apart

We will be channelling Grenville in ‘Open All Hours’ and we will serve you, please don’t handle the goods unless the exact bottle you’re buying

Lastly, please go to www.goodsixty.co.uk for local deliveries - including lots of other great independent suppliers who will be very grateful for your custom.

New week new wine!

Symington Family, Altano Organic, Red from Douro, Portugal

Intense, garnet colour. Beautifully scented, with floral and ripe red fruit aromas. On the palate, the wine shows excellent structure and balance and the fruit is fresh and focused. The elegant long finish denotes the balance afforded by a perfect acidity.
Food friendly, pairs from Italian pasta dishes, to Spanish tapas.

Our wine if the week!

A supple, medium-bodied red with juicy, aromatic wild berries. Low tannins and fresh acidity alongside pure, primary fruit make this a great value every day wine of real versatility which could even benefit from a slight chill before serving. Ideal with charcuterie, while its freshness would also make it compatible with spicy dishes.
