The brothers Danjou-Banessy...

A tale of tradition, heritage and two brothers changing the game of Rousillon wine.

A family domain dating back century's, handed down father to son. In the 1950s, Denis Danjou-Banessy had greater ideas for this ancient land and decided to expand the vineyards.

In 2001 the winery fell on the shoulders of his grandson Benoît. 5 years later, his brother Sébastian (a former english teacher) took the reins alongside.

The family was renowned in the region for its sweet fortified wines, specifically the regions acclaimed rivesaltes. But the brothers were eager to break the mold while simultaneously staying true to tradition.

Using native grapes and traditional methods, they took a leap of faith and began producing the family's first dry wines.

The wine on your screen (La Truffière Blanc) is one of these. Made from the mythical and rare Carignan Gris grape. With a wild gunpowder reduction and a true sense of terroir, it's no surprise these brothers are getting heads turning in the direction of this mostly forgotten region.

Drink in or takeaway.

Going till its gone...
