The first released outside of the USA!We are truly excited to bring these whiskies exclusively into Australia. A big thanks to everyone who helped make it happen at Rare Character Whiskey

For those wondering how you can get your hands on these bottles, We'll be showcasing them around Sydney next week for online retail, bars, and bottle shops, followed by Melbourne the following week. Any trade individuals around Australia interested in stocking these whiskies can DM us. They will be available on retail sites and in stores hopefully at the end of next week and can already be found in certain quality watering holes.

So, why 'Old Mate'? We wanted a name that was uniquely Australian, and nothing is more memorable than 'Old Mate'! The artwork was drawn by a local Australian artist .artist

So what are the whiskies?

Old Mate Bourbon (HRY 101)

Age: 6yrs 1 mo
Proof: 116.6 / 58.3% ABV
Mash: 60 corn / 36 rye / 4 malt
Heavy toasted heads

Old Mate Rye (SRY 101)

Age: 6yrs 9ml
Proof: 115.22 / 57.61% ABV
Mash: 54 rye / 45 corn / 4 malt
Low toasted heads

There was an early access release through the membership program, but their allocation sold out quick smart!

Exceptional Chenin Blanc from Loïc Mahe, Equilibrium, Savennieres.

The latest vintage is 2019 and is a wonderful expression of Chenin Blanc, but how does it get better with an aged version (2008). Available on the store, very limited stock of both the 2008 and 2019.

Harvested by hand by successive sorting. After a slow direct pressing, the must is put directly into oak barrels where the fermentations occur naturally without exogenous yeasts. No input is used except for a little volcanic sulphur. The wine is bottled after 18 months of ageing, 12 of which are in barrels.
