This we are highlighting the 2023 Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc from Halliday Winery of the Year . ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿฅ‚

Harvested on the 24th of March 2023, these Sauvignon Blanc grapes were destined for greatness. With a playful baumรฉ ranging from 10.8 to 11.2, this wine dances across the palate with an alcohol content of 11.5% alc/vol.

A symphony of citrus, tropical nuances, snow pea, and nettle aromas float out of the glass. On the palate the wine is supported by refreshing acidity, leading into a crisp finish.

While enjoyable on its own, this wine really shines when paired with food. Picture yourself enjoying a glass with grilled asparagus and halloumi, or savouring its magic alongside flathead served with a fresh Greek salad. ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ๐Ÿฅ—

Perfect for immediate indulgement, the 2023 vintage will continue to develop in bottle until 2026. Its journey from vineyard to bottle encapsulates meticulous techniques - crushed, chilled, skin contact, fermentation in stainless steel tanks, and a touch of oak maturation. The result? A wine that's pure and textured, a true reflection of its terroir.

Crafted in the cool embrace of the Adelaide Hills, this wine captures the very essence of South Australian excellence. With a Top Gold award from the Royal Queensland Wine Awards 2023, it's a testament to the dedication that went into each bottle.

This wine is available online as well as in every Red Bottle store! Currently featured in our Spring Catalogue grab a bottle for only $20 (or grab two for only $36!) Cheers to the Hills!

Finally! Today is ! We are featuring another wine from , 2021 Second Innings Malbec. Echoing the cricket games of the past, this wine is a tribute to Bleasdale's founder, Frank Potts II, as he indulges in a family cricket match on the estate's grounds. Harvested between March 22nd and 25th, 2021, these Malbec grapes were destined for greatness.

After 9 months of careful maturation in French oak puncheons, this wine was bottled on July 27th, 2022. With a glowing 13.5% alcohol content, it boasts titratable acidity of 5.9g/L and a pH of 3.53.

In the heart of Langhorne Creek, Malbec thrives, embodying the region's spirit. This wine proudly presents vibrant primary fruit flavours of plums, red berries, and a touch of pepper spice. Its smooth and velvety texture makes it a plush, juicy red with character.

This Malbec has won National Wine Show 2023 Trophy ๐Ÿ† and 95 points from James Halliday!

"95 Points. Three gold medals at second-tier shows, silver at the Perth Royal Wine Awards and Royal Adelaide Wine Show. Bleasdale is Australia's foremost maker of Malbec, investing it with rich, velvety plum and blackberry fruits, supported by amicable tannins. Drink to 2031."- James Halliday, The Weekend Australia, February 2023.โ€

Pair it with flame-grilled chicken or beef to elevate your dining experience. Enjoy the fruits of Bleasdale's labour as they honour tradition and the land.

This is available in every Red Bottle store and our e-store. One bottle for $20 or grab TWO for $36 this Spring ONLY! Great way to enjoy your BBQ night!

Another is here.

๐Ÿท Embrace the legacy of Barossa's past with Langmeil Orphan Bank Shiraz 2019! A homage to preserving the region's historic vineyards, this remarkable wine tells a story of resilience and dedication. ๐ŸŒฑ

Orphan Bank is more than just a wine; it's a testament to Langmeil's unwavering commitment to heritage. Ten rows of pre-1860 Shiraz vines, spared from a developer's fate, now thrive alongside the North Para River, etching their history in every sip.

With a family legacy spanning six generations, Langmeil Winery stands as a pillar of Barossa's culture, rooted in quality, community, and excellence. This 2019 vintage speaks volumes of their devotion.

Delight in its rich crimson hue, as a symphony of red and blue fruits, herbs, and cedar dances on the nose. Succulent raspberry and Satsuma plum grace the palate, with allspice adding layers of intrigue. Fine-grained tannins bring forth a lengthy finish, harmonizing with flavors of briary spice.

Cellar this masterpiece from 2021 to 2036 and pair it with culinary delights like rabbit stifado, roasted meats, or matured cheese.

Langmeil Orphan Bank Shiraz 2019: a tribute to tradition and an embodiment of Barossa's essence.

โœ‹ Meet Our Team: Alex โœ‹

The manager of our Central Park location, Alex has completed WSET Level 2 in Wine and Level 1 in Sake ๐Ÿค“

He's also your go-to expert on all things beer, spirits and anything else you might find in his store's expansive range.

Ask him nicely and he may even give you some modelling tips!

We tapped into Alex's vast knowledge and asked him a few questions about his favourite drinks!

๐Ÿท๐Ÿท

Q: If you could recommend one drink to someone who's never tried it before, what would it be and why?

Sake. I think sake is something everyone should explore as its offerings are as diverse as wine. With varying styles and flavour profiles that further change via serving temperature, itโ€™s a flavour exploration and an interesting drink to learn about along the way.

Q: Can you share a unique or underrated drink that you think more people should try?

Cider is a misunderstood and underrated battler in the booze world. Most people's minds go to the mainstream cider brands that are made from concentrate and are just sugary and sweet. But there are some really great ciders out there I think people should give a go.

Here are 3 picks: Young Henrys, Hills Tropical Sour, Willie Smiths Bone Dry.

Q: Is there a particular drink that holds sentimental value to you, and if so, whatโ€™s the story behind it?

Johnnie Walker. My Grandfather drank it like water (remember that was a different time) and kept a fully stocked bar with all the colours at all times. A Johnnie Black makes me think of him sitting in the sun on the back of a boat soaking in the serenity.

๐Ÿท๐Ÿท

Whether you're seeking a rare find or an international gem, Alex and his team will be ready to assist!

Introducing this week's feature: Peter Lehmann Mentor Cabernet Sauvignon! ๐Ÿทโœจ

Named in honour of the iconic winery's esteemed founder, this wine is crafted with meticulous care from select fruit sourced from various Barossa sub-regions. It showcases remarkable varietal definition, enriched by the complexity of low-yielding old vines matured in French oak barrels.

With a limited release, this is one of the finest Barossa Cabernets of the 2018 vintage. Its dense and vibrant purple hue catches the eye, while the aromas of lifted blackcurrant, vanilla, and chocolate captivate the senses. A youthful and ripe dark plum spectrum adds to its allure. The fruit weight is nothing short of immense, harmoniously blending with mouth-coating tannins, subtle notes of dusty French oak, and a beautifully balanced acid core.

As Vivid came to a close last week, get ready for the next exciting festival in Sydney! ๐Ÿœ๐ŸŽ‰ The inaugural Sydney Ramen Festival, hosted by , is bringing together the finest ramen stores in Sydney for an unforgettable experience.

Did you know that in Japan, ramen is often enjoyed with perfectly paired beers? ๐Ÿบ Here are our expert tips for enhancing your ramen bowl cravings:

๐Ÿœ Tonkotsu: The rich and hearty broth calls for a fuller-bodied stout or classic lager. Try the Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout from our Red Bottle Sussex for a delightful hint of vanilla and coffee, or opt for a classic lager like Sapporo.

๐Ÿœ Shio: The light and salt-based broth pairs well with a subtle ale. Our recommendations include the refreshing Hitachino Nest White Ale from Red Bottle Chinatown or the Yoyogi Pale Ale from Red Bottle Alexandria, known for its clean and crisp finish.

๐Ÿœ Shoyu: With its soy sauce-based broth, a complex drink is needed to complement the saltiness. Indulge in a heavy wheat beer like Yebisu or Suntory The Premium Malt to enhance your ramen experience. They are available in all our stores!

๐Ÿœ Miso: The slightly cloudy, soybean paste-based broth benefits from classic dry lagers such as Asahi or Sapporo, allowing the earthy and nutty flavours to shine.

๐Ÿœ Spicy: For spicy ramen, stick to malty brews or bright rice beers that contrast the heat. Enjoy Histachino Nest Red Rice Ale from Red Bottle Sussex St or Echigo Rice Lager from Red Bottle Hunter, Red Bottle Sussex, and Red Bottle Central.

Join us as we explore these delectable ramen and beverage pairings at the Sydney Ramen Festival! Please note that some ramen restaurants do not allow BYO but they do takeaway ramen.๐Ÿ˜‰

For this weekโ€™s instalment of we are featuring a classic Barossa Shiraz - perfect drinking as the temperature continues to dip!

The Blackwell Shiraz from iconic Barossa producer St Hallet is a dry and complex red wine that was made as a tribute to their former winemaker of over three decades, Stuart Blackwell.
Here's what makes it so remarkable:

The wine was first released in 1994 to honour Stuart Blackwell, a tireless contributor to the St Hallett story. The fruit is sourced predominately from Northern Barossa with the red-brown clay soils creating wines with hallmark characteristics of black plum, cherries, and dark chocolate.

The fruit for this wine is sourced from vineyards in the parishes of Ebenezer, Greenock, and Moppa Hills. Individual parcels are harvested and treated as single batches in the winery. The grapes are destemmed and transferred to various-sized fermenters dependent on the batch size. Yeast selection, pump over regime, and ferment temperature varies, based on the characteristics of the block with fermentation typically around 24 - 26ยฐC and time on skins between 10 and 12 days. Malolactic fermentation takes place in the fermenter.

After pressing, the parcels are filled into American oak barrels, where they mature for 12-16 months. This maturation period imparts additional complexity, enhancing the wine's flavour profile and adding subtle oak nuances.
