Some whiskies have a great back story but end of packing in taste. Not this. Uncle Nearest taught Jack Daniel's how to distill and make whiskey. Now a current generation of his family is making whiskey. While many African Americans worked in distilleries, it's a rarity to find Blacks high up to teach the distillery owners. Uncle Nearest is one of the few Black and female owned distilleries in the United States. And what a delicious dram they have created.

If you are a hop head this one is for you. Nugget Nectar is a once a year beer that's made with Nugget, Warrior, Tomahawk, Simcoe and Palisade hops. With a 93 IBU and 7.5% ABV, it's a mile ahead of the fruit bomb hazy crazy the marketplace is flooded with.
