Merry Christmas and Thank you to you all! We miss seeing you at all of the different locations but have loved seeing you out and about in town and at Moore's 460. Thank you so much for you kind words, sincere support of our decision and patience as we work out the hotdog recipes in such a massive quantity. We just got a new batch of slaw and hot chili in, hopefully this one is closer the recipes we love. This is a work in progress, for sure! We look forward to 2023 and the continuation of our new adventure!

Hi Everyone! Moore’s Country Store here…

Yes, it is true. We sold our gas stations to the Express Lane Group, HEAS Energy. We are getting out of the fuel business and going back “to our roots” - the Hot Dog business. Yes, the Moore’s Coleslaw and Moore’s Chili will still be available but at more locations now, very soon.

Express Lane will be keeping Moore’s Hot Dogs and most of our other food at all of our previous locations. They will be adding your favorites from them to the menu as well. They will also be available for caterings.

Moore’s Hot Dogs will actually be in some of the Express Lanes throughout Lynchburg and the surrounding area over the next several months. The first stop being the Madison Heights Express Lane – the most requested location for our Hot Dogs. So while it is a sale, it is also a partnership.

David and I will still be in and out of ALL the stores.
Our focus will be back at Moore’s Mt. Athos and expanding our brand throughout Virginia. You can order our chili spice packs at www.moorescountrystore.com. Lots of people are making our chili at home now and using it in other recipes as well. I love hearing their new ideas with the chili spice.

Thank you, Thank you for your business and your trust in us over the years and especially the friendships that have evolved. We are not leaving you, we are just readjusting our sails for a new adventure. We look forward to seeing everyone at ‘ole Moore’s or in and out of Express Lanes. This is a good thing for all of us. Happy March!

We are looking forward to hopefully warmer weather, spring flowers, sunshine and spring activities.

Thank you for your patience with the hour adjustments at Graves Mill. We are going to extend the hours a little Monday thru Saturday at Graves Mill. Sunday will stay the same for now but we hope to be able to open a little earlier soon.

It's been a beautiful fall already. Fall brings a different feel in the air - Mums, Pumpkins, Apple Orchards, Mountain Drives and lots of football...

We are short handed like most companies - if you know any teenagers and college students looking for a job that can work with their sports and school schedule please have them fill an application out at one of our locations. We can also work with other schedules if you work a full time job or have kids in school. We do hire 15 year olds as well. We also need people 21 and over.

Oysters will be here this month. We are asking whenever possible that you PreOrder and PrePay. Orders will need to be placed by 2:30 pm on Sundays.
We can get Oysters in the Shell - 25 count, 50 count, 100 count, 1/2 bushels and bushels. Our oysters are delivered on Thursday's.

Great news! Neice, has worked out a schedule so we can be open normal hours at Moore's at Mt. Athos unless something crazy happens... You have to love her energy, drive and motivation to do what she loves...

If you are looking for a job/career and are 16 years or older please stop by an apply for a position. These folks are working long hours to feed and support our community. We have flexible hours and will train you. If you work a full time job during the day we have part time night time positions available and we work with school and college schedules too. We also have just weekend hours available.

Yes there are times we work hard but if everyone shows up and does their part it's easy and a lot of fun! We have the best customers and employees any company could ask for... It takes a team to make a business run and every single person including you is important. You can also text 434-660-2543 if you have questions about the job openings available.

Just a reminder -Due to a maintenance project - We are closing Moore's at Waterlick today, Sunday, September 26 at 3 pm and will be closed Monday, September 27, 2021. We will reopen Tuesday, September 28, 2021.

Happy September!

September is here already! Time has flown for some of us and time has slowed down for others. I think one of the hardest things to discuss with those younger than most of us is to enjoy where you are right now. We are always in a rush to finish one grade in school to get to the other or finish this year because next year.... For me this last year and a half has made me try to enjoy each day and what it has to offer a little more than I did before. I am one of the lucky people that can see most days as a brand new start to enjoy my time seeing our customers, seeing our employees, having time with family and friends, doing something for someone else or whatever comes my way. I try to take each moment in stride. It definitely isn't easy all of the time but I love all of it! I have always said I love Fridays because it's the end of the week (mind you I still work on weekends) and I love Monday's because I get to try again.

Take some time this month to enjoy the events and things around you. If you have never been to the Field of Honor ceremony attend that event on Graves Mill Road this Sunday, Sept 5 at 4 pm and then again on Sept 11 at 8:30 am. It's free to attend. Lynchburg and the surrounding areas has so much to offer our community. Volunteer if you have time - Meals on Wheels could use some help and many other organizations - Foster programs, CASA, Big Brother Big Sister, Jubilee and so many more. Go to the high school football games. Attend the local theatre group shows or the local school shows - you wouldn't believe the talent we have in this area. Walk the Trails and visit our parks. Yes - there are restrictions now, that none of us like but wash your hands, wear a mask if required, be thoughtful of your own trash, cleanliness, etc. and enjoy the beauty of everyday even through the dark times - Find your Blessing, your gift, your Joy - and maybe just maybe figure out how to share that with others. Be polite, be patient, be kind.

Don't forget to plan ahead for traveling sports, lunch at a park, trips to the mountains or lake or whatever your retreat may be to get out of the house.
We have everything you need - Fresh Fried Chicken, Hotdogs - with all the fixings - Macaroni Salad, Potato Wedges, Chips, Snacks, Drinks, Beer and Water and so much more.
If you are Grilling, we have Charcoal, Lighter Fluid and hopefully Propane Tanks ready to go! Don't forget the Ice, Waters and 2 liters and Moore's Chili!

We are closing early on September 5 and 6 - Please call in your chicken orders ahead of time if possible and have them picked up by 5:00.

Sign up for the Shell Fuel Rewards Card - You start with 5 cents a gallon with the potential to get more, I got 25 cents off a gallon the other day. Shell is now doing deals in the store too, if you use your card for everyday purchases. Once you sign up, you will get emails telling you what the deals will be each month. You can also use your Kroger Card to save 10 cents a gallon for gas if you spend $100 or more at Kroger each month.

Don't forget to take the time to thank a firefighter, police officer, EMT, volunteer, hospice worker, caregiver, cashier, cook, dietary aide worker, truck driver, greeter, etc., I can't even begin to list all the people that work everyday behind the scenes and right in front of us, that put their lives on the line to protect us and serve us. Be patient with those working, it really is a thing that places are short of help and the same people are working to be there for you. If for some reason you have a bad experience somewhere - just think - can I do what they can do? it's easy to say - yes - but remember the saying about walking a mile in someone elses shoes - it's not always as easy as what you think. The folks that are showing up have a lot going on themselves outside of work too, just like you.

Thank you for continuing to support us through all of the changes. We have to follow the 6 feet rule between customers and we only allow around 6 people to be in the stores at one time, we made this decision because it is easier to keep up with the correct number of people in case someone is in the bathroom or at the ATM or if someone has a child, older parent or friend, etc with them.

We are making PIzza's. Call in your order and we will have it ready for you! 434-993-3216

We are doing CARRY OUT or CURBSIDE only at our other locations. You can CALL, order on our APP or ONLINE and we have the DRIVE-THRU open in Boonsboro.
You can call the store to find out what the ENTREE and VEGETABLES are for the day, tell the cashiers what you would like or put it in the notes on the APP and then pay. We can bring it out to you or you can come in an get it. If you want us to bring it out, just call us when you arrive and tell us what your vehicle looks like.

We are opening at regular time and will be open until 7 pm each night. Sundays our hours will be 10 am to 7

April is always such a refreshing month - Renewal and Rebirth... Spring flowers, fresh mulch, spring cleaning and warm sunshine... despite these times of turmoil take the time to enjoy the fresh air (of course don't forget to take your allergy medicine) talk to your neighbor from afar, thank the "essential" businesses for their services, buy local as much as possible. Many places are open for limited hours to get what you need or have figured out a way for you to order online. Try them first before you shop at Amazon.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Our Graves Mill, Boonsboro and Waterlick location will be serving our traditional Thanksgiving meal for purchase on Thanksgiving Day! Turkey with Gravy and Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Corn Pudding, a Roll and your choice of Pecan or Pumpkin Pie! You are welcome to eat with us or take it home!
