Lots happening tonight for the Illini game! First off, got our buddy Deon Thomas coming in to join you in the watch party. Then we have two undefeated teams playing. And finally, some of the most loyal 🏈 fans around.

Reminder that yes, buck off special today on all drafts, cans of beer, cider, or seltzer, and glasses of wine. Plus 64-oz pitchers of Triptych “Together Forever” Homecoming Pils for $16 (all specials during game only). Yes, you can bring food or snacks in, or better yet, order Dan's Pizza off our kiosk. And finally, no, we don’t take reservations. We’ll move tables in from outside to accommodate the larger crowd we anticipate, but seating is first-come, first-served.

We’ve been remiss in welcoming our newest beertender, Jordan! You’ll mostly see him welcoming you on Saturday afternoons. Jordan has great beer knowledge and experience, is great to talk to, and fits right in with the incredible folks we call our staff family. Plus, he slid right into the #1 spot in Orange & Brew’s beard power-rankings.

Come say hello to Jordan today! He’ll be here until 4, which coincidentally might be when you should get here for a seat for the Illini game kicking off at 6:30. 😬

And you can be a lady or a dude, as long as you're 21, to bring your "hall pass" in to be counted for the 10% of sales we're donating to our local schools. It’s the season for Oktoberfest beers (still have some .5L glass mugs available to get $5 pours rest of season). Werk Force Werktoberfest still pouring (last call!) and just tapped Urban Chestnut O-Katz. Weather’s great, bring your own Leo and hang out tonight!

Big test tonight for the Illini football team. If you're an Illini, or a college football fan, or just a fan of having a fun night out...game will be on tonight, and from kickoff to final whistle, buck off all drafts, cans of beer, cider, or seltzer, and glasses of wine. While our Triptych "Together Forever" Homecoming Lager is on, we'll have $16 pitchers of it. Once that's gone (likely sometime tonight), 2nd Shift Technical Ecstasy hits the side-pull faucet and will also be pouring 64-oz pitchers for $16. Come out tonight, bring dinner or snacks, and let's get the weekend started, Chicago Illini!

We have swag from the Chicago Illini Club and drink specials during games. Weekend starts now! Come down to the Downers Grove Oktoberfest! We're open now, fest opens at 3 p.m. today and 11 a.m. tomorrow.

Music, food, entertainment outside all weekend courtesy of the great volunteers for the District 58 Educational Foundation. G. Love & Special Sauce take the stage at 9:30 tonight, and our friends from Dad Bod hit the Battle of the Bands stage tomorrow at 12:15 p.m.

We'll be tapping our Triptych "Together Forever Pilsner" later today and running the rest of the weekend, including for tomorrow's Illini Homecoming game. Wouldn't be an Oktoberfest without an appropriate beer, so our friends at Werk Force provided us plenty of Werktoberfest draft for the weekend. We'll also be pouring Phase Three Geo for a hoppy line, and the delicious Misbeehavin' Caramel Apple Cider on draft, and slushee variants!

We have our winner for inaugural Chicagoland Youth Baseball Mentor award! Rob Kinsella from the Munster Bombers won the voting, and a $500 donation to the organization from us.

Also receiving donations of $100 from their nominees are the Darien Stars from Noah Parra, Illinois Hawks from Noah Kararo, Westmont Express from Jose Ramon, Woodridge Athletic Association from Rocco Pisano, and Woodridge Bulldogs from Adam Waszak. We'll be in touch with the nominators to work on getting the checks out.

Thanks to those who participated, and here's Rob's nomination one again:

Rob Kinsella, Munster Bombers, as nominated by Rudy Ortiz: I can speak for hundreds when I nominate Rob Kinsella. He is currently the Coach of the Munster Bombers soon to be 13U and has been ever since 7U. We have played the last 4 years in the Chicago Sunday League and against Travel teams located in the Chicagoland area. Over the last 5 years with this team alone Rob has devoted countless hours of his valuable time. Many coaches can say the same but what separates Coach Rob is the way he conducts himself on and off the field to his players at ALL times. Rob coaches these young men with integrity, positivity, humility and a strong passion for making them good human beings on and off the field. Anyone who has had the pleasure of having Rob as their kids' coach has had nothing but great things to say about him as a coach and a person. Rob has a great skill of communicating to the kids without having to yell or come off intimidating. His post game speeches are legendary. Rob has made our town very proud of the great example he is in our Community as a positive influence not only to kids but to his peers. Big day here! First up, reminder about our annual stein hoist competition. This year we're hosting Stiegl and pouring their Herbstgold Festbier for the competition. It's a perfect lighter Oktoberfest beer meant for drinking in warmer weather. We'll start taking registrations at 5 p.m., up to 12 entries for the women's competition and the the remaining (up to 24) for men. Entry costs $15, but that includes your 1 liter ceramic stein, PLUS your first fill of Herbstgold. We have Orange & Brew and Stiegl prize packs for winners! Can't wait!

Time for your regular reminder that PakTech carriers are NOT recyclable in your home recycling. But you can bring them here and we’ll take to SCARCE to recycle along with Green Beer Project. These boxes have about 1,800 carriers, which is 300 cases of beer!
