Seasonal Favorites: Piña Colada
Elevate your Piña Colada for National Piña Colada Day with these twists on the tropical cocktail.
Puerto Rican Piña Colada – Add 2 oz. light rum, 1½ oz. cream of coconut (or coconut sorbet), 1½ oz. pineapple juice, ½ oz. lime juice, and ice (about ¾ cup, but you can adjust based on the texture you want) to a blender, then blend on high until cold and smooth.
Cuban Piña Colada – Add 2 oz. aged rum, 4 oz. pineapple juice, ¼ oz. lime juice, ¼ oz. rich simple syrup (2 parts sugar to 1 part water), and ice (about ¾ cup, but you can adjust based on the texture you want) to a blender, then blend on high until cold and smooth.
Greek Piña Colada – Blend 2 oz. light gold rum, 1½ oz. yoghurt liqueur or Greek yogurt, 2 slices of pineapple, ½ oz. pineapple liqueur, 1 oz. coconut rum, and ice. And for a fun twist, add Chartreuse or absinthe to the mix.
Mocktail Monday: Mojito
This recipe is a refreshing, non-alcoholic twist on the classic Mojito.
Muddle 6-8 mint leaves with 2 tsp. sugar and 1 ½ oz. of lime juice in a glass. Add 2 dashes of non-alcoholic orange bitters, then top with club soda. Garnish with a sprig of mint and a slice of lime. Cheers!
