To commemorate The Macallan’s 200 year anniversary we’re reflecting on our rich heritage.

Our short film, The Spirit of 1926, tells the story of how The Macallan’s former managing director, Janet ‘Nettie’ Harbinson, crafted the most valuable bottle of wine or spirit ever sold at auction. Christopher Kane, globally renowned Scottish fashion designer, designed a series of bespoke costumes for Nettie using artisanal fabrics, including a bespoke The Macallan tweed.

Kane captured Nettie's character and was inspired by her defining characteristics throughout the design process - “Nettie was a maverick woman, her courage and conviction to follow her heart was so inspiring.”

The Macallan House Hong Kong, a new flagship retail and experiential space which connects our home to the world, opened its doors with a grand celebration.

This new concept store, designed by leading architect Jamie Fobert, provides visitors with a multisensory immersion into our mastery of whisky making and Nurtured by Nature ethos. A unique retail experience blending nature and culture, where guests can learn about The Macallan Estate, the creation of our whisky and purchase from the largest collection of The Macallan whiskies outside of Scotland.

The opening celebration captivated our guests with dance performances and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. We welcomed our esteemed guests including Korean actor Mr. Lee Jae Wook, Mr. Ryeoun and Hong Kong actress Ms. Louise Wong to commemorate the occasion.

Created in collaboration with Stella and Mary McCartney, our travel exclusive Harmony Collection Green Meadow celebrates the lush and fertile lands of Scotland which connects all those who have stood upon it for generations.

To mark this deep connection with the land, discarded meadow cuttings have been given a new life in its presentation box and bottle labels. Each box features photography by Mary McCartney of The Macallan Estate.

The Macallan Whisky Mastery Team has taken inspiration from natural Scottish grasslands, creating a single malt reminiscent of wild meadows, with a vibrant primrose scented finish.
