Au Paradis - wijnkoperij

Wijnkoperij Au Paradis was founded in 2014 by Joris Engelsma & Déborah Schilperoort. Our objective is to find bio(dynamically) made low intervention French wines and bring them to Amsterdam. Our focus lies on the whole of France with a slight predilection for wines from the Loire Valley and Burgundy. We purchase all our wines directly from the winemaker and for this reason we often travel to Franc

e. We select our wines on purity, originality, structure and origin. In other words, we look for wines in which the grape and the ‘terroir’ can be traced. All of the wines we select are produced organically or biodynamically and are made with as little intervention as possible. Déborah obtained the highest diploma of the world’s most renowned institute for wine education, the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), in 2014 and became a Weinakademiker at the Weinakademie Österreich in 2015 with her thesis ‘Grower Champagne; a new and lasting reality?’. Joris was an attorney at law for 10 years before he - guided by his infatuation with wine - set a new course in 2014. He has obtained the WSET Advanced diploma (with merit) and likes to read and study everything there is on wine. Au Paradis is an expression of their shared passion for wine.
