Today we witnessed a beautiful bench being unveiled by our community in Loving Memory of our long-standing friend and local hero Stan Atkins. He looked after Pole Hill park and then later ran Pets Corner for many years where the public could go and see the various animals he had rescued and looked after. Illness coupled with senior years never hindered Stan and his efforts which must be admired and appreciated by all. His passing away meant noone was able to take the full time role on of looking after the site and the animals were relocated. The bench is just outside the gates of Pets Corner in Pole Hill park which can be accessed by Petworth Gardens, Ryefied Avenue, Sutton Court Road or from the other side using an entrance from the Charville Estate We hope you have a chance to visit and see the bench in Stan's memory. We give thanks to our local Councillors who work so hard for our community We must also Give credit to The Oak Farm Residents Association who make lovely things like this possible.
