It’s with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes that I can confirm that we are now closed in Leyton.

I can’t thank you all enough for your support and kindness, it’s been a genuine privilege to get to know you all and to be embraced so lovingly by the amazing Lea Bridge community.

This has been one of the most difficult decisions of my life, but one that has been governed by a mix of personal and professional reasons.

Please continue to support your local high street and do drop in and say Salut the next time you’re in Forest Gate.

Hello folks 👋🏽 there’s a few changes to our opening hours during the festive season.

Our amazing team is having some well deserved time off but we’re here for you on the in-between days.

24th Dec: 9am - 4pm
25 & 26 Dec: Closed
27 - 30 Dec: 9am - 5pm
1 & 2 Jan: Closed

Wine tap is installed and ready to rock from tomorrow!

After very serious tastingSsss 🥴 I decided to go for:

•White: 2022 Ciello bianco, Sicily. Unfiltered, made with organic grapes ( not certified) Fresh, bright and tropical fruit notes. £1.50/100ml

•Rosé: Côtes du Rhône. Organic. Medium body, refreshing, highly desirable..

•Red: Côtes du Rhône. Organic. Ripe red/dark fruits, pepper notes, velvety tanins. Gorgeous syrah&grenache blend 🤤

Got a spare tap but things are not set in stone yet for that one…

Same process than other refill: •bring a bottle

Cups&jars turned 1 year this week! We celebrated it quietly, couple of glasses of bubbles were raised, feeling proud and wondering how the next one will be like 😵‍💫

We see so many shops and buisness closing at the moment so having made it that far is an achievement! We wouldn’t be here without you so massive thank you for your support, we know how tough things are at the moment!
Refilling and only buying what you need is also a way to save money and help reducing the crazy amount of waste this country produces!
Also and finally we’re in process of increasing our selection slowly slowly.. all recommendations and wishes have been heard!

British Soup Mix
All I can think of at the moment is Soup and toasted bread!

Inspired by great broth & peas mix, we’ve mixed the best that British pulses has to offer. Treat yourself to a hearty, comforting meal! Much needed innit? Fells like November again!

All grown in Britain: yellow peas, split green peas, emmer, Carlin peas & marrow fat peas.

Soak overnight, add to soup/ stew, eat, repeat!

But today is a good day to acknowledge how privileged I fell to be working with Daria! Cups would be very different without her smile and attention to details.
Daria’s made those lovely soap ( dried flowers & organic ingredients) and hand decorated cards for Mother’s Day. Mainly using upcycled materials; pretty innit?

I fell blessed to work with such a strong, driven and creative woman 💚

Is one of your new year’s resolution to reduce your plastic waste?

Start small, two/three high turner products will make a difference in your bin and allow you to slowy move into the refill routine without getting overwhelmed by it all!
You can start with any containers you already have; no need to buy special containers. I mean pretty containers are great of course but mix matched also has charms.. ☝️5 years collecting and making it fits my tinny kitchen 😅

We don’t need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly ( Anne Marie Bonneau)💚

If you know, you know! is The Best Panettone you can get in London and it has arrived on Lea Bridge Road.
There’s just something about that light, fluffy, sweet, vanilla baked bread with jewels of vine and candied fruits that just sings of Christmas.

What makes it so special is the care, craftsmanship and tradition of a process that's being used since the Ulcigrai family began making panettones five generations ago in Trieste in northern Italy.

They are made with the equivalent of a sourdough starter and as such are naturally leavened, together with a long fermentation process, all help the texture and flavour. The perfect dome shape is maintained by hanging them upside down after baking, to prevent it from collapsing.

It is just delicious to have as it is or lightly toasted with butter at any time of the day, and if you do have any leftovers (which we doubt), you can turn it into a Panettone bread and butter pudding.

We have a selection of hampers ready to go but you can also come in and choose what you think is best and we’ll wrap it for you.
Or let us know your budget and we’ll pick a selection for you.
There isn’t a too small budget, we literally spend half the year collecting craft paper and wooden boxes from our deliveries to upcycle it so no extra charges is needed for wrapping.
Finally and not the least, we only use compostable seaweed clear wrap!

GLUTEN FREE BREAD ALERT!!

Freshly delivered this morning by .gf.bakery. I’m hoping to be able to stock it regularly and that mainly depends on how much you like it! We’re also stocking their GF bread mix that super easy to use!

* bread comes in a plastic bag to be completely safe for coeliac people. Not perfect but working towards it!

are grown & produced in UK on a sustainable farm that uses solar energy and their tractors run on biodiesel. Crips are dangerously addictive, and I still can’t decide between their 5 vegan flavours that we dust on it! Price? Well I have found a lot of brand that charges a lot more than £1 for 50g bag and probably with half the quality we are getting here!

This is not a Black Friday post! But a !

As a small buisness we do our best to absorb price increases coming from all directions. Paying our bills, staff and suppliers is priority to our own confort.
We put our hearts & souls into everything we do and sustainability is always the end goal.
Running our small business as never been as though as it is now and noticing how many business are closing down definitely gets us to reflect a lot on what we’re doing to keep going.

So thank you so much for your support, we know that things are though for everyone at the moment and we really appreciate every little help (especially the friendly banter that keeps the spirit up!)

Got our delivery from and the shop smells lovely!
Supporting British companies is part of what we do. Specially when there is such a strong sustainability focus. All packaged in recyclable packaging and delivered to us with bio.fil ( water dissolvable wrappers that we keep for hampers to come soon..🫣)

Their scents creation is hugely inspired by British landscape, only uses natural ingredients and vegan candle wax.

I often get asked for tips on healthy food/ supplements tips (I must look healthy..😅)
A friend brought me ‘s Remedio Naturale last week as I was feeling under the weather. Insanely good and officiant! I added honey and fresh thyme to my afternoon cup( turmeric is also recommended, not my thing though). Evening cup, a splash of Rum 😁
I was back to myself the following day. Placed an order straight away, boom! Try it!
