Loads of you will already know, but here's a polite notice about this evening:
We've taken the decision to shut for the evening for staff drinks and pizzas.
This is very much a first. The Volly is usually open 365 days a year, all day every day (except Christmas Day when we open 12-3)
In the past to have staff nights out, we've got former members of staff in, to mind the bar, so the current team can go and enjoy some time together. What happens then, though, is some unlucky so-and-so has to head back before 11 to kick everyone out and do the closing-up procedure - after a few drinks - which is no fun at all.
One thing the last year has taught us is we deserve fun as much as anyone - so we'll be calling last orders at 7.30, kicking out at 8pm, and going out to enjoy ourselves as a team.
You'll agree the staff have earned it - so we know you'll understand ❤️

This is what's in the cellar for the weekend. A frankly ridiculous lineup, we think you'll agree 🍻

I'm away from tomorrow until Monday. After about 45 seconds of deliberation, I've decided against getting enough 'content' ready for the weekend.
•
We're going to take a proper break instead. That means no social media!
•
So the cellar is full of beer and rest assured that we'll be open every day until I get back.
Call in and let the staff look after you. They're really good at that ❤️

We've had a look at a few opinion polls which have gathered data from both business owners and from a customer perspective, and it's certain the overwhelming majority of people don't want a free-for-all today or any time soon.
It's for this reason that we're going to continue to *encourage* people to do the following:
• Wear a mask when moving around.
• Check-in when arriving.
• Use hand sanitiser.
• Remain in the groups you arrive in and try not to approach anybody if you're not certain they're comfortable with you doing so.
Also, as a business policy we'll continue to ask people to continue not to sit across the front of the bar as you're within a couple of feet of other people's drinks being prepared. We'll be keeping this area clear to get everybody in the bar and outside area served. The areas down the side of the bar are fine to sit at.

We're doing this for 2 reasons. The first is simply in the interests of staff and community safety.
The second is that last week proved to us that a common recurrence, throughout the summer, of a situation wherein we're having to ask dozens of people to get tested and potentially isolate because of a 'contact' with a covid-positive person will make it very hard for us to operate as a business.
We appreciate your understanding with this and would like to thank the staff for their continued efforts in working so hard at maintaining these measures thus far.

🚨 WE ARE OPEN 🚨

As you can see on the certificate depicted - we've had any trace of Covid blasted from the place.
•
We've also had PCR tests done - which have all come back negative - by any staff who aren't isolating.
•
We took these additional measures to ensure we're 100% safe and reassure anyone who might pay us a visit this weekend.
•
We'll update on the plans for Monday-onwards after the weekend.

Hello folks,

We've had a few different customers in the last few days let us know they've had a positive covid test after having been in the Volly last week/over the weekend.

We've informed everybody we need to inform in terms of track-and-trace but, to be on the safe side, we've taken the decision to close for today and tomorrow to give ourselves an opportunity to do a thorough clean down and for all of us, the staff, to get PCR tested.

We'll be back open Thursday at 4pm.
