WINE TASTINGS ARE BACK

Ask and you shall receive… Yep, wine tastings are back! Save the date for Thursday 17th April, it’s going to be a gooden. What better way is there to spend a sunny spring evening than being with Dean and six different bottles of wine? Need I say more.

GOODBYE

Where do we even begin? When Charlie first took up space in our basement back in 2023, neither of us knew how much of a permanent fixture in Bunch he would be. Having now served food in our venue on-and-off for the past two years: tens of seasonal menus written, many-a private dining event has been hosted, hundreds and hundreds of small plates have been sent up those stairs created so meticulously and with such finesse… and we’d do it all a million times over.

What an absolute pleasure it has been to work with such a talent and not only that, but someone who has been a friend of Bunch since we essentially opened our doors, too. That makes it all the more special… Every single dish that has reached a guests table looked like a labour of love and Charlie’s time in the kitchen really has been a kickstarter of conversation on the Liverpool food-scene since the very beginning.

Charlie, you will be dearly, dearly missed. Not only personally by myself, Dean and Bobby (it’s not often collaborating with friends is as seamless and enjoyable as this experience has been), but by everyone who has stepped through the doors of the bar over the past couple of years and experienced all that you have to offer.

Thank you for being a part of us, it’s been the absolute best! We can’t wait to see what the future holds for you…

RESIDENCY SPACE AVAILABLE

Hello all!
We have some exciting news, Bunch is on the look-out for a new morning and evening offering!!

We’re currently looking for a new concept to take-over BUNCH in the mornings. Our little space on Berry St deserves to be full from day to night, so if you have a coffee shop/café/daytime bistro concept, then we would love to hear from you. You would be operating independently of BUNCH with your own hours and creative freedom to curate the space as you wish!

We’re also looking for a new chef residency as our beloved Charlie Jones is sadly leaving us as he embarks on new adventures ❤️‍🩹This would be for evening-time food service alongside us: serving plates as we serve our wine; with care, consideration, finesse… It may even be a little unconventional…

So if you have a concrete concept for either mornings, dining (or both if you’re THAT good😏) then please do not hesitate to share it with us at:

BOOKINGS

The time has finally come. It is with heavy hearts that we have to say that this is ‘s penultimate weekend service as our resident chef. As it happens, we have had some more spaces free-up this evening. We will have plenty of space for walk-ins if you’re dying to get your last Charlie fix before it’s too late and Dean will be pouring some lovely things at the bar. We also have spaces next weekend too, for the last hurrah. However, we anticipate that this is going to be very, VERY BUSY… So if you’re looking to dine with a slightly more relaxed atmosphere, we recommend that you try and get yourselves down tonight!

HOSPO EVENING

Calling all of our much-loved hospo folks! We would once again love to honour you all by hosting another CHARLIE X BUNCH hospitality evening, taking place on Monday 31st March. This one is extra, EXTRA special as it will be ‘s final day of service as our resident chef. We will be serving from 5:30pm-late and you can count on us opening some ridiculous bottles to give Charlie the send-off he deserves and to celebrate everyone in the industry who makes the Liverpool hospo scene what it is!

We would also like to remind you that this is the day after Mother’s Day, so we encourage you to bring your birth-givers and we can raise a glass to them too 💐

Walk-in space will be available for this, so feel free to just rock-up. However, we do recommend that you book-in with us to guarantee a space, this is going to get busyyy.

It really will be a BIG one with many-a-thing to be celebrated across the evening. We can’t wait to have you for one final CHARLIE X BUNCH rendezvous 🕺🏻

FINAL THREE WEEKS

Yes it’s true, the dreaded news… You’ve only got three weeks, we repeat, THREE WEEKS to catch for the foreseeable. Charlie will be serving dinner in Bunch Friday-Sunday, with his last day of service being the 30th March (Mother’s Day)💐.

We still have a fair bit of space available this weekend. Friday is going to be a busy one, but if you’re wanting to join us Saturday and Sunday then we can definitely accommodate!

PRETTY PIDGEON X BUNCH BIG WEEKEND

What a bloody weekend that was!

Friday’s pintxo night was arguably one of the most fun evenings we’ve ever had in Bunch! Maybe a lot of that had to do with drinking from a porrón every 10 minutes, but despite all the video evidence we’ll pretend that didn’t happen 👀

I think it’s safe to say that in ‘s casual, Northern Spanish dining style, this weekend really has been an ode to the pintxo. And it goes without saying that many a glass of txakoli were raised too, in true holiday fashion of course.

If you’re looking to catch before they fly the nest this weekend, then tonight is your last chance. We’ve got some spaces available throughout the evening and plenty of Spanish wines left for the occasion. You might even get a go of the porrón if you can prise it out of Dean’s hands.

PRETTY PIDGEON THE POSH-BIRD

So sorry we kept you all waiting for details on Saturday and Sunday, but the wait is finally over…

turned into a posh-bird and has been nesting on this absolutely delicious à la carte menu to be served from 5-10pm Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th March. Kick-starting the weekend with the already very full pintxo evening, this will be a slower and slightly more formal, sit-down service in comparison and we anticipate that both evenings will book-up, as we only have limited spaces. PINTXO NIGHT

So, we hope you’ve heard the news by now, but BUNCH and are getting back together!!

The weekend will be in two parts, with more to come about what’s happening Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th in a couple of days. But first and foremost, Friday 7th March will be an evening dedicated to pintxos, of which there will be a plethora. For those who don’t know, a pintxo is a Northern Spanish style of bar-snacking, which all began with the Gilda (something we adore). So whisky the sun seems to be showing its face in this lovely first week of march, we should soak it up in a true Mediterranean style. There might even be a few bottles of txakoli opened for the occasion and plenty of cava, salut!

This is not a ticketed event, however we will be taking bookings for the evening. So please, if you’re intending to join us, just drop us a DM or Whatsapp to let us know you’re coming.

Some lovely, lovely new things on the menu this week including, chicken thigh and purple sprouting broccoli!

However, this is just a little reminder that we are NOT taking bookings on Saturday, bookings this weekend are for Friday and Sunday ONLY. We still have spaces on both days, so if you want to get your hands (or knives and forks) on these new additions then book yourselves in!

LAST CALL FOR

We all knew this day would come, a very sad day indeed for food-lovers of Liverpool as Charlie’s current residency with us draws to a close. As you all know, we absolutely love having Charlie with us, he will be dearly missed along with all of that delicious food (i’m surprised Dean and I haven’t gotten gout from overconsumption), it’s simply too good! But with that being said, we look forward to the day where Charlie might once again share the space with us, it’s always an absolute pleasure!

The good news is, Charlie will be serving food up until the 30th March, so you have a wholeee month to book in with us. The final couple of weekends will fill up pretty quickly, so if you intend to book in with us then, we suggest you do so immediately. We also have something extra cool happening the weekend of the 7th-9th so keep your eyes peeled 👀

Let’s give CHARLIE X BUNCH the send- off it deserves 🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻

MILLS BREWING

Here we are again showing off our collection, I dare say at this stage we might have more Mills beers than anyone else in Liverpool? Citation needed, but in any case we’re so proud to have such a spread of their brews.

Based in Gloucestershire, Mills Beers all spend certain lengths barrel fermenting and every bottle is rested for at least 6 months before release to the market. They’re are made with very much of the same ethos as we demand from our wines - little intervention, indigenous yeast fermentation and given the time they need to shine as they should.

All of the above are available to drink in, and I have maybe a bottle or two of each I’d be willing to part with for takeaway, so if you’ve heard tale of Mills Brewing and wanted to start somewhere, call by and we’ll crack a bottle!

A little recap of a lovely weekend… We began the weekend by schmoozing you all with an dinner that seemed to have an accidental pink theme… fit for the occasion we suppose.

You all ransacked the HUGE wine order we did specifically for Valentine’s weekend… Big reds? not on our shelves, apparently. We even saw some big, BIG love on some of our extra specials bottles… We see you wanting to impress that special person 👀

Hard-launching the ultimate Valentine’s Day duo: ‘s menu with an optional wine pairing by yours truly. To stay true to the sentiment of the occasion, I would suggest not having one without the other… they belong together, after all!

Sea bream, tom yum yum & keffir lime. If there’s one thing you ought to order, it’s this. Fragrant, zesty and mildly sweet, we LOVE it.

Sunday is filling up nicely but we still have a few spaces available.

FORCED RHUBARB SZN

Forced rhubarb is grown between January and March, much sweeter, more tender and pinker than rhubarb grown outdoors. In our opinion, it’s the perfect accompaniment to the Mackerel dish on the menu this week, giving a tart edge to an otherwise richer, oilier fish. We LOVE it.

A HOT MESS

There’s nothing we love more than a messy table: empty glasses, scraped plates, cutlery in disarray… A sign of a very good time indeed, in our opinion. Speaking of good times, this weekend has been a pretty big one so thank you for making the end of dreaded January much more enjoyable. We’re open for dinner and wine this evening, if anyone fancies a last minute bite. We might even open something special if anyone wants to indulge a little after the first pay-day in what feels like forever?!
