Bees in March
Early spring is a critical time for bee colonies.
With the days getting longer, this is when the Queen will start to lay more eggs. More brood means more food and the bees are not bringing in any nectar. If the bees were adequately supplied in autumn then this shouldn't be a problem.
Without disturbing the bees too much, on a good day when the bees are flying, we can take a look inside the hives to check their stores and supply emergency feed if needed.

We have our own bee hives near Black Cat Bridge on Exmoor. This is where we collect our honey to infuse our Rum.
All of the bees in our hives have been rescued from extermination. We then re-home them to our hives.
Honey Bees are endangered, it is crucial we do everything we can to save them from extinction.
