Three wines for the Spring sunshine. ☀️☀️
We tried the Plyto from Lyrarakis wines last night and 'Oh My Word' what a lovely drop this is. Creamy citrus fruits and reminiscent of warm hay in the summer fields. Sancerre Esprit from Domaine Serge Laporte is a soft and supple Loire Pinot Noir with a nose of cherries and hints of spice and the Lopez Rosado has an intense rosé nose, with hints of raspberry and floral notes with a silky mouthfeel and lovely balance.

Breaking News: Chris’s Bold Move into the Pineapple Wine Industry! 🍍🍷

In a groundbreaking (and slightly baffling) turn of events, Chris has officially abandoned traditional winemaking to become the Pineapple Baron of Beaujolais! Buying land in the esteemed French wine region in 2024, he has defied centuries of tradition by planting nothing but pineapples—because, according to him, “grapes are just so last season.”

The result? The world’s first-ever Pine é Pomme Blanc 2025—a "wine" that sommeliers are calling “unexpected” and “definitely a choice.” Best served chilled, decanted, and preferably with a sense of humor, this tropical delight is perfect for picnics, beach days, and deeply confusing French wine purists.

The second new label today is the very smart one from Domaine de Cassagnau 2022. Looking very on trend and in a black/white format this is a gorgeous beautiful, soft wine from the Languedoc, with an expressively fruity bouquet and a hint of spice.

Two new labels today. Love this one of the Kotsifali from Lyrarakis Wines, Crete. It's even cut in a particularly striking way. The wine is full of elegant spice and is quite delicious with Mediterranean dishes, beans and pulses and pungent cheeses.

Sunday Wine Spotlight:

Recoleta Criolla Grande is deliciously light and fruity. Very pale, from the thin skinned, trendy Criolla Grande grape, the nose is a mini-marvel of exotic flowers with red berries and a touch of Turkish Delight - really! Delightful acidity wraps around the juicy flavours in a wine that is wonderful chilled and is a great match for spicy foods hard cheeses and robust seafood dishes.

Mauricio Lorca, Vista Flores, Uco Valley, Argentina Criolla Tinto is a big grape with a thick skin, producing a wonderfully fresh and floral red with lashings of raspberries fruits on the palate and a lingering length. Gorgeous. 12% abv
