Haddington Place is a brand new contemporary all en-suite student accommodation opening in September 2016. Within easy walking distance of Edinburgh city centre (about 5-10 minutes), Haddington Place is perfectly located in an area that is vibrant, full of energy and quickly emerging as the place to be. Offering high-end student living, this accommodation has 240 rooms, all of which feature en-sui
te bathrooms, small double beds, designated study areas and plenty of storage. With a variety of room types and sizes available there is something to suit all needs and budgets. Students living in a studio will benefit from a kitchen and dining area whilst the cluster flats offer students a chance to socialise in the shared kitchen/living room. Top tip: book quickly to get a room on a higher level - the views extend across to the Firth of Forth (River Forth’s estuary) and parts of the city. Haddington Place is less than a twenty minute walk from the University of Edinburgh’s main campus (alternatively, there is a convenient bus service), but when you aren’t at lectures everything you need is right here. Inside, there’s a brand new state-of-the-art gym for keeping fit and healthy, fantastic multiple common areas - for studying or socialising including the fantastic Cinema Lounge for ultimate down time and high speed WiFi. On the doorstep, there’s a new Sainsbury’s, Tesco Express and Co-operative. There’s also a variety of restaurants and cafés close by such as the yummy Italian Vittoria just across the road and the trendy Broughton Street area (a favourite street of students). Plus, there’s over 50 shops to be explored at St James Shopping Centre. The best shopping in the city is on Princes Street, a 10-15 minute walk from your accommodation, where you’ll find a host of chain stores including The Apple Store, H&M, Topshop, Primark and Edinburgh institution, Jenners (House of Fraser). The Playhouse theatre and Omni Leisure complex are so close too so you can enjoy a multi-screen Cinema. Transport links also deserve a special mention. There are excellent bus services on the doorstep to many parts of Edinburgh and the University and the main station serving Edinburgh (Waverley Station) and the tram link to the airport are only 5 minutes away. However, you may opt to join your fellow students on two wheels; cycling to the city centre and to the universities is a popular choice as Edinburgh is surprisingly compact (considering all it has to offer) and has a great cycle network including traffic free cycle routes - so the bike storage facility at Haddington Place with room for 161 bikes is such a benefit.
