According to reports, in a letter published in the London Evening News on May 8, 1919, an Australian journalist, Edward George Honey, had proposed a respectful silence to remember those who had given their lives in the First World War.

This was brought to the attention of King George V and on November 7, 1919, the King issued a proclamation which called for a two-minute silence.

Well an early 4am start and a round trip to Nottingham was how today went for us here at Veterans Brewing.

As you can imagine Covid hit us hard just as we were wanting to start momentum rolling but we have continued working so hard through all this to not only keep our pub and staff going in Hove but also to continue building the brand. With the help of fellow former Tiger (PWRR) we was able to link up with a contact in the and after jumping through many strenuous hoops and getting us all documented up with weeks of paperwork we are now essentially paper worked up for super market entry level and the British Legion purchased 1500 bottles of specially made custom bottled (not canned) beers to sell in their exclusive online poppy shop which will be available to its huge member base of some few hundred thousand people and back end of the year there will be nationwide publicity push and photo shoot too boot for us too to help push the brand.

We’ve big ambitions to supply every Royal British legion pub with casks and barrels of beers and also every military base and shop in the uk and who knows maybe beyond and our own online shop will be back and running again soon.

Thank you all for sticking by and for supporting veterans brewing, we appreciate it more than you will know.
