Thierry Glantenay of Volnay, watching this estate rise and rise over the years has been a highlight of my career so far, now getting big notes and scores he remains the most humble vigneron and one who has exceptional terroir. Here he is in Clos des Chênes this morning, after that we went to the cellar to taste the 2021 vintage 🔥🧨🍷🇫🇷

Cécile Tremblay, what a great visit yesterday - some great news too, this year as she has got some more parcels of vines including Clos Vougeot! All the global praise for her wines is very merited, they are incredible 🔥🧨🇫🇷🍷

A quick but always great visit with Sebastien .christophe > it’s a beautiful day and we went into the vines where all is looking good for 2022! This is a great estate for me, Sebastien has special talent and makes racy, mineral and tense Chablis that is concentrated and incredibly finessed too. 🔥🇫🇷🍷

François Cotat; I managed to get him to smile and he doesn’t like photos, well what can you say other than he produces astonishing wines that are seemingly eternal from the hillsides around Chavignol. The 2020 and 2021 vintages are markedly different here as they are all through the Loire 💥❤️🇫🇷🧨🍷

I’ve been wanting to work with the exceptional wines of Xavier Braujou’s La Terrasse d’Elise for some time. Drinking and loving the wines when I could find them in France, they are wines of sublime finesse and elegance, the vines situated virtually in between Daumas Gassac and Grange des Peres near Aniane right in the Terrasses du Larzac and it’s soils of glacial scree over limestone. We will be able to offer these in June 🔥🍷

A few classics on a rainy night at home. The Rinaldi with a gorgeous faded rose aroma and lovely sinewy tannin, the Gramenon is purity and sublimity in a bottle, both are 🔥

Jérôme Bretaudeau continues to refine and redefine what is possible with Muscadet with his mastery of elevage. I have been waiting and wanting to taste this wine for some time and it finally arrived yesterday. It is extra! - beautiful aromas come-hither - very fine and stony/mineral in the mouth; superb tension but with a gossamer texture, very silken and sensual. Kudos Jérôme 💥

A couple of weeks ago along with I got the chance to enjoy these thanks to the generosity of 💪 The 1985 was completely resolved and pure silk and perfumed elegance; the 2000 was his last vintage I think and obviously younger, still unresolved and coiled with a blackberry, woodsmoke and tapenade centre. It will be a great in some time.
