Copper Fox dedicate themselves to making truly great American spirits. Combining inspired innovation and venerable tradition, they are taking fine whisky to new levels, producing ground-breaking and unique flavour profiles.
Hand-crafted with original ideas and locally-sourced ingredients, each barrel starts from scratch with their own hand-malted barley. They flavour the grain with fruitwood smoke and age the spirit with a progressive series of new and used fruitwood chips in used bourbon barrels.
All of the grains used are grown locally by one farmer, and the 6-row Thoroughbred barley was developed for Copper Fox at Virginia Tech. They floor malt the barley in the traditional style, which allows them to develop and maintain a connection to the grain throughout our entire production process.
Their innovation begins in the kiln, where instead of peat, they use local fruitwoods that gently smoke and dry the grain.
Copper Fox is the only distillery on the planet to mature their whisky with toasted Applewood. This process further develops and enhances the flavour of the smoky malt, resulting in a complex and singular flavour experience.
All of their products are non-chill filtered, allowing the natural oils to deliver to you the rich, full flavour of their grain.
