We’re so thankful and humbled by all the messages we received after our last post, thank you to all. And it was lovely to see so many friendly and familiar faces last week.

We just got confirmation this afternoon that we’ll be settling the sale next week, which means that this will be our last week of trade before we hand the keys over.

We decided to make the most of it, and to open Sunday this week as well so we will be here:
Wed - Fri from 5pm
Sat - Sun from 3pm

Would be wonderful to see our locals again x

Hello!

As a few of you know, we decided we’d put Westwood on the market earlier in the year, and the great news is we accepted an offer from a lovely couple of young guns - more on that and them later.

It looks like we’re currently in the final stages of the sale, which means that these next couple of weeks will likely be our last at 313 Victoria St, before the new guard take the reigns.

I’m hoping we can be a little more specific with dates later in the week, but in the mean time we’d love to see as many of our wonderful locals as possible one (or more!) last time.

As always, spots for walk ins available. We’ll be using the Coravin to pour a few special bottles too, so if you pop in then please ask what else is available!

A couple of tweaks to the menu this weekend. Bar snacks and small plates a plenty, with the last of the season tomatoes tasting particularly good.

I’ve got some lovely new wines on the pour to reflect the change in season too, including pinot noir, and ‘true blue’, an unapologetic nod to the South Australian red blends of yore.

Thought I’d open something fun by the glass this weekend, given it’s a long one and the weather’s lovely!

Igavi Wines Tsolikouri. From western Georgia, and fermented in traditional clay ‘churi’.

Made by UK/NZ/AUS ex-pat Aiden Raftery, it’s got less skin contact than similar wines from the region, leaving something delightfully fresh, citrusy and mineral in the glass.

Open from 5 this evening, for some nice things to drink, and tasty snacks to accompany.

Brassica Oleracea. Better known as sugarloaf cabbage (or hispi, conehead or sweetheart cabbage).

It has tight leaves, a distinctive conical shape and a wonderfully sweeter flavour which we think works really well in our remoulade and served alongside our skirt steak.

Our last menu starts next week, which will also be last menu at the helm.

Jacob has been with us for 4 years, through a couple of very tough ones, and will be greatly missed both professionally and personally.

Westwood wouldn’t be where it is today without his hard work and cooking skills, but we understand that it’s time for something new.

Our last day of service for the year will be Friday December 23rd, before we take a break and return in the new year with a few changes.

We’d love to feed you one more time before the end of the year,
