After much reflection it is with great sadness that we regret to inform you all that Smilov Spirits will be closing for a while effective immediately.

The past 2.5yrs have been beyond incredible and never in our wildest dreams did we anticipate the level of support that we have received during this time. To say we are overwhelmed would be an understatement, this was an idea birthed together that began in the backyard during lockdown.

We want you to know that this was a super tough decision and not one we took lightly. It was after numerous lengthy discussions we came to the decision to take a step back from running Smilov Spirits and focus on our family for an extended hiatus.

We are so proud of our achievements to date, being a tiny team, up against so many big players, we have worked our butts off to get to where we are and all while learning a new industry each step of the way. None of that success however would’ve been possible though, without your support and for that we will be eternally grateful for, we never expected or anticipated the level of support so openly received by the Smilov community.

As a 100% self-funded family owned and operated business, the toll of wearing multiple hats wore us down and we came the point where a decision needed to be made about the direction moving forward. After exhausting all alternative solutions, we were left with no other option but to take a break and spend the time recalibrating in our number one role, as parents. Sometimes in business (as well as life) we must weigh up the options and make tough decisions and this was a tough one.

We are so grateful to everyone who has supported us from day one. Thank you to all the bars, venue managers, owners, clients and customers online and in person who gave us a shot when we were new and had no idea what we were doing. Our business grew purely from your support and belief in our brand.

🌶 Spicey G&T

Why did we choose this?

We were gifted some amazing purple chilli's and we just had to mix them up with our Purple Gin.

It was quite simple we muddled a couple chilli's, added simple syrup, lime juice and our Gin and topped it with Tonic...

It was actually very nice and the appearance was quite unique.

We are always experimenting and trying out new ways to enjoy our spirits...it's what makes it fun.

A little sneak peak of what it takes to bring our latest creation to life!

There's a lot that goes in behind the scenes, and being a small family run business, we're all hands-on...

It's something we love here at Smilov Spirits. Husband and wife founded, and husband and wife run.

We are prepared for the final week of distilling and bottling, and getting all our online orders ready for all the amazing customers that have supported us.

💜 Lavender Gin Sour 💜

We're trying the classics first with our new Gin!

This was amazing...the smell of the Subtle Lavender and junipers with the fresh citrus was 🫶

A Gin Sour is made with Gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup, egg whites, and shaken with ice.

We finally got our hands on some fresh Lavender today, which means it's going to photo bomb every picture until it dries. We used the rest in the distilling process and realised we had none left over for the pictures 🤣

Was actually quite nice.

Hand crafted and produced in Margaret River, Western Australia. Our Premium Lavender Purple Gin is a traditional dry gin in flavour with strong Juniper and Citrus notes, highlighting the floral minty delicate characters of Lavender.

To compliment this, we have carefully selected and fused a combination of traditional and Australian Native botanicals, which include Cinnamon Myrtle and Lemon Myrtle to enhance the distinctive tastes of Margaret River's native bushland.

Using locally sourced Lavender was important to keep our Gin authentic to the region. Our Lavender Purple Gin is naturally colored to not compromise on quality, and also to highlight the subtle Lavender notes in both appearance and taste.

It's been an amazing few weeks 🙌 we've learnt a lot and are excited to build on the relationships established.

But for now, it's time to head back and get ready for our up and coming launch.

We arrive back and head straight into preparing, distilling, and bottling our new baby!

😊 Beetroot Bliss X Smilov Vodka

We thought we'd change it up today. Mitch and I are both lovers of fresh juices with a combination of fruit and vegetables.

What happens when it's cocktail o'clock, but you also feel like a juice?

This was quite nice if you're a fan of beetroot...we juiced beetroot, ginger, lemon, lime a dash of mint and celery... added some simple sugar with our Vodka and away you go...

Was very refreshing... if you like a bloody Mary or more savoury styled cocktails you can keep the sugar syrup out. 😉
