We regret to inform you that Chris' father sold Lido Supermart without our knowledge. Chris were only informed about it yesterday afternoon.

The new Pakistani owners are there already.

Hi, we are looking for a cashier/general worker with a drivers license because the person must do deliveries as well.
Working hours from 12:00 till 20:00 and every second weekend off. Weekend hours from 08:00 to 20:00 on Saturdays and 08:00 to 18:00 on Sundays.

It can even be students who can work as casuals.

We are helping a couple who is going to get married on the 11th of December 2018 just to try make their day a bit special.

We already have someone to do the brides nails, however she needs a dress, size 34/36. Doesn't need to be a wedding dress in particular just something to at least make her feel special.

Also if anyone can perhaps help with hair and make up. It would have to be between 7:00 and 9:00 as their marriage is set to be done at 10:00.

Anything else to help make this day special would be much appreciated.

Times are tough but your wedding day should be a little bit special at least.

Please note that the couple is staying in Roodepoort area. They don't have transport themselves because they had to sell their car to survive after the birth of their baby girl 6 months ago.

Mars Hill Roodepoort Charity Drive

Please share and assist with any food item/s, even just 1 tin of food or any old clothes or unwanted items.

Mars Hill @ Roodepoort would like to invite anyone who could possibly donate items to contact Annemarie on 078 707 7109.
Times are tough and many people are not managing. Families that go to sleep hungry and cold.

We are looking to collect non-perishable food items such as tinned foods, long life milk etc... Even just 1 item can make a difference in a family without basic necessities life. Clothes, blankets and any other useful items can also be donated. We will distribute all items fairly under those in need.

Clothing and household items that are not distributed will be sold to purchase electricity and other necessary items as needed.

Currently the most needed items are food to assist families in who are in desperate need

Thank you to everyone in Discovery/Roodepoort who have contributed plastic containers and bottles. The Owl Resque Centre collected the second load from us yesterday.

Remember that this don't just keep our neighbourhood clean but also the oceans. Most of the plastic used land up in the ocean.

You can also buy the houses from The Owl Resque Centre if you want 1 for your garden. Some of the owl species live only in urban areas.

We reached our first 30 Tons of recycled plastic bottles today after 6 weeks of collecting.. That's 30 tons that's not going to land up in the ocean!! Big thanks to everyone who is making a big difference by helping us to collect😉

I can print any words or sayings and silhouettes. You can buy your own t-shirt/s or I can supply them. There is no minimum amounts. I can print only 1. There may be a design fee depending on what you want.

First recycled plastic owl house

Just a reminder that we are a drop off for the Owl Rescue Centre Plastic Project.

Our 100% recycled plastic Owl House. This is the very first one we made, subsequently to this one, we have played around with mixing different colours and moulding techniques and they starting to look really cool... almost professional😉.. Beetlejuice really likes them!
The experts say they should last in the region of 450 years, that's alot of Owl generations🐣🐣

News flash

We have signed up to be a collection point for the Owl Rescue Centre plastic recycling drive

Owl Rescue Centre
Plastic bottles, we need all of them. If its made from plastic and looks anything like these samples, we can use them. We were initially looking for around 200 tons for the year, that has now gone up to 600 tons.
We collect ALL plastic bottles and plastic containers (and caps too).
The Plastic is granulated and then melted and molded to manufacture conservation products like Owl Houses, Bat Houses & Bee Hives.
Only 2% of all plastic in SA is currently recycled - help us to change this.
This is such an exciting project for us and we have received unbelievable support, let’s all save our oceans and planet!
