It’s that time of year again to shoot out of 2025’s starting blocks for the trailblazing annual Astron Energy Trail! And this time round we’ve revamped the extremely popular event, giving you the most amazing trail run together with a fun-filled day for everybody in the city’s legendary heart of Baakens Valley on 2 February 2025. Pre-entries open on 01 January at www.bigosports.co.za/event/astronenergytrail. The staggered race distances of 5 km, 15 km and 20 km mean that young and old alike can get to experience all the joy that nature has to offer on our very doorstep. Atlas Security is stepping up safety in Walmer with our newly installed first-of-its-kind CCTV Poles in partnership with the Walmer Business Cluster along Main Road, Walmer a key area that has long been identified as a crime hotspot.

These advanced cameras are equipped with analytical technology and License Plate Recognition (LPR) to proactively fight crime.

Incorporating the latest surveillance innovation, these cameras are more than just a deterrent—they are an integral part of a broader intelligence-gathering network. Equipped with advanced analytics and Crime Predictor technology, they can identify suspicious patterns and behaviours, bolstering our ability to predict and respond to crime.

This groundbreaking capability marks the beginning of a shift towards a more proactive force in the area, designed to keep residents and businesses safer than ever before. This is just the beginning for Atlas Security clients, with plans to roll out more CCTV poles and cutting-edge technology in early 2025, further strengthening security in the area.
