Big beautiful peppers - over 400g each - best crop yet

Hallo Port Alfred folk. With the summer holiday season almost upon us, we are all hoping for a bumper season business wise. We have been producing vegetables for Port Alfred and adjacent areas for the past 5 years. Much love, care and time goes into this by all of our family members and staff. This holiday season, lets buy local and help to grow our local economy. Our produce is picked and packed on our farm and delivered to the shop floor within 24 hrs - you won't get fresher than that. Look for our Chelsea Veg label or ask for our veg from your local veg supplier. We supply tomatoes, cocktail tomatoes, green, red and yellow peppers and cucumbers. Our local stockists are:

This is a small percentage of what we produce - the rest is trucked to PE/EL/KWT. We would love to supply much much more locally.

We are a family owned and run vegetable farming enterprise situated between Port Alfred, Bathurst and Kleinemonde. We grow tomatoes, cocktail tomatoes, cucumbers and green/red/yellow peppers. We grow, pick, do all our own packaging and deliveries to retail outlets in Port Alfred snd Grahamstown, as well as supply the fresh produce markets in Port Elizabeth and East London. Our produce is picked and packaged on the same day and delivered within 24hours to our customers. Everything we sell is grown on our farm for local consumption. We supply boutique stores, chain retailers and community grocery stores with fresh, locally grown veg.

11 bay planting complete. It usually takes 10 - 12 weeks from planting the seedling to picking - we picked the first ripe tomatoes today from the first planting of seedlings in this tunnel - 6 weeks later

Another use for a cucumber - after a long day of wrapping them!

New season - more improvements...
Liam levelling after the bulldozer excavated a platform for his new tunnels - he is joining the business and increasing cucumber production. We started growing cucumbers in June 2021 to increase our basket offering - adding to our production of tomatoes, cocktail tomatoes and green/red/yellow peppers. It had proved to be a very sound decision and Liam has been hands on since the outset and is ready to carry on with his own tunnels.
We have fully automated the fertigation system which has done wonders for our yields.
The pepper crop is producing their summer peppers under shadenet and we also planted tunnel varieties of peppers to lengthen production.
