WINE WEDNESDAY

Our featured wine this week is the Dry Furmint 2022 from Patricius Winery.

Patricius Winery was created in the Tokaj Wine Region by the Kékessy family’s winemaking commitment that draws from the past and future. The 68,5-hectare estate, which has six historic first-growth vineyards, is based in Bodrogkisfalud, in a press house we renovated that once belonged to nobles and features in the Tokaj-Hegyalja Album printed in 1867. This building is connected to an organic-style, modern winery with gravity-flow system, that perfectly reflects the co-existence of traditions and the state-of-the-art modernity in the world heritage landscape.

WINE WEDNESDAY

Our featured wine this week is the Renée Fouché Crémant de Loire NV from Château Pas de Loup.

Chateau Pas De Loup is a 120 hectare estate is located in France’s Loire Valley bordering the forests of Fontevraud. Translated into English, Pas de Loup means “Way of the Wolf” so named after the packs of wolfs that once roamed the surrounding forests.

The Chateau sits in its own valley at the base of which is its own spring, the Souce de St Radagone. It is in caves located behind the spring that she is alleged to have taken refuge in AD 680, when she escaped from her husband King Clotaire, prior to founding the Abby at Poitiers. St Radigone is the only Queen of France to have been made a Saint.

WINE WEDNESDAY

Our featured product this week is the Gabriel Boudier Saffron Infused Gin.

At the end of World War II, Maison Gabriel Boudier became one of the few specialists in French Gin by securing the supply of Gin to the American army in Europe. Saffron Gin is a recipe rediscovered in the archives of Maison Boudier from a time when France and England had established trade outposts in India. Its harmony stems from the interplay between the spiciness of saffron and the elegant bitterness of juniper.

WINE WEDNESDAY

Our featured wine this week is the RK Riesling from Reichsgraf Von Kesselstatt.

Covering 46 hectares, our vines occupy an extraordinary range of superior terroirs along the three river valleys that we call home – the Mosel, Saar and Ruwer. Expressing the individuality and personality of these unique terroirs as effectively and tangibly as possible is what matters more than anything else.

Capturing that distinctive, delicate, minerally style for which the Mosel, Saar and Ruwer are so famous and with which no other winegrowing region can compete has always been important to us. We know that our region has potential for great dry wines that exude elegance and minerality but remain light in alcohol. This is why we have been our investing our heart and soul for many years into growing and producing long-lived world-class dry Rieslings.
