Introducing The Garland 2015 from Simonsig Wine Estate.

Rigorous hand selection is completed in the vineyard to ensure only the very best quality grapes are used. Maturation in 100% new French oak barriques from selected coopers for 24 months.

The wine displays a dark ruby color with a dense black centre. Youthful and rather shy at this early stage of its life but developing nicely to become full bodied on the palate with rich plum and blackberry fruit.
The Garland will develop and improve for 10 to 15 years but will last many more with proper cellaring.

This wine is the ultimate expression of Simonsig Estate’s wine-making passion, crafted by impeccable terroir and revealed in every bottle.

Join us for another exciting wine tasting lineup today, Friday, with Miles Mossop Wines.

Established in 2004 with the vision to create wines unique in character, expressing the true nature of South Africa and the sites from which the grapes are sourced. It is a family business with Miles Mossop as the winemaker and viticulturist.

Individual vineyards are sourced and production is limited to 80 tons in total which results in 1800 cases of white, 2200 cases of red and a limited amount of dessert wine being produced.

These are truly handcrafted wines showing pure fruit expression and, more importantly, a sense of place.

“Between the fast pace life in Los Angeles and constant travel for races, winemaking became my passion and my escape.”

At the end of 2018 Trevor DeRuisé sold everything he owned (except for his bike) and hopped onto a plane to Africa. What was meant to be one harvest, 3 months maximum to reset, turned into what his life is today.
Taken under the wing of some of the most talented winemakers in SA, Trevor now lives in a wine cellar, amongst the vines, 2.5 hrs away from the nearest city, where he hones in his craft. “It’s a simple, honest & meaningful life & the lessons I’ve learned to get here are the core values of Lost Boy Wines.”

WINE & FRIENDS ARE A GREAT BLEND On Saturday evening, we joined a fabulous group gathered under picturesque Table Mountain, to experience some of the finest wines from around the globe! The Dom Perignon 2010 Vintage was compared with a Krug 2004 (Luminous Freshness) Vintage to kick off the evening. This definitely set the bar! Earlier in the week the Urban Team helped the birthday boy source some big local reds to complement a special meal. He opted for Vilafonté M Series and Rust en Vrede 2014 Estate Red. He then kindly invited us to share the wine experience. Dessert was a dish best served cold, Donkiesbaai, a straw wine crafted by expert winemaker Coenie Snyman. Coenie is also the winemaker for iconic wine estate Rust en Vrede, since 2006.
