Kalahari Truffles approached us almost a year ago to collaborate with them to create South Africa’s most unique, premium truffle-infused spirits.

Only available for harvest 5 weeks a year, the elusive Kalahari Truffle has a textured, Umami flavour with floral, herbaceous notes and a subtle tannin. Because the Kalahari Truffle is so rare, only a limited number of bottles can be produced each year, with this years harvest yielding only 20kgs of dried truffle.

Pienaar & Son is the proud production partner for Kalahari Truffles we are so excited to see what the future holds for this exciting new brand!

Tiny Batch 5.0 🥃

On a warm Saturday afternoon around a fire, we came up with an idea: To create South Africa’s tiniest whisky batch, with an emphasis on quality, detail, and complexity of flavour.

In 2018, we took a chance and filled our first barrel knowing that we would only be able to reap the rewards four years later, once the spirit had matured.

In 2022, we opened the barrel to a Bourbon-style whisky that was nothing short of spectacular. Fast-forward to 2024, the 5th set of casks has just been opened, bottled, labeled, hand numbered and released into the wild.

There are only 500 bottles available per release, across both the Heavy and Medium Char variants. We hope that every sip fills you with as much warmth and joy as it does for us.

Introducing the collab you've / we've / the whole world has been waiting for... Pienaar & Son x Jump Brewing! For the first time in P&S history, our Pot Still made something other than Gin. We fed it 800L of Jump Brewing's delectable Brut IPA and created a moonshine that is out of this WORLD! 🔮 The funny thing about distillation, is that you can’t actually manipulate flavours too much, but you CAN enhance what is already there. When you have this amazing IPA that is bursting at the seams with mango, citrus and hops… What would that taste like if we concentrated all of that flavour more than 10 fold?! A positively explosive ⚡ result unfolded ⚡ with those very same notes of mango, citrus, hops and papaya.
