Pinot noir cask matured

A limited edition Longrow Red single malt from the gang at Springbank in Campbeltown! This edition of the heavily peated whisky spent four years maturing in bourbon casks, followed by a further three years in French Pinot Noir wine casks.

Tasting Notes

Nose
A herbal, vegetal note is immediately apparent in notes of tomato plant and heather, along with touches of morello cherries and smoky bacon.

Palate
Sweet and savoury meet on the palate, with notes of smoked ham, wine gums, raspberry jam and honey.

Finish
Characteristic coastal notes come to the forefront in the finish of this dram

Springbank 12yo Cask Strength 57.2%

Exceedingly sought-after single malt here! This is the annual 12 Year Old Cask Strength release from Campbeltown-based Springbank distillery. This edition was drawn from a selection of 70% bourbon and 30% sherry casks.

Tasting Notes

Nose
This year’s 12-year-old cask strength kicks off with notes of marzipan, smoked meats, and a smokiness akin to burnt matches.

Palate
The smoky, earthy note continues on the palate and a nuttiness is introduced in notes of pistachios. Notes of caramelised brown sugar, prunes and custard round out this dram.

Finish
A sea salt note emerges in the finish along with notes of red

Compass Box Crimson Casks Whisky

A sherried blended malt from Compass Box, the bulk of Crimson Casks is made up of whisky from Benrinnes, Glen Moray, and “a distillery near the town of Aberlour”. An interesting touch of Highland malt blend aged in a custom heavily-toasted French oak barrel adds depth. It was bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill-filtered and natural colour.

Here’s the full blend breakdown:

– 26.9% single malt from the distillery near the town of Aberlour aged in a first-fill oloroso sherry-seasoned butt (11-month finish).

– 19.7% Glen Moray single malt aged in a first-fill oloroso sherry-seasoned butt (four-year finish).

– 14.5% Benrinnes single malt aged in a first-fill bourbon barrel.

– 11.3% Glen Moray single malt aged in a first-fill oloroso sherry-seasoned butt (four-year finish).

– 8.4% single malt from the distillery near the town of Aberlour aged in a first-fill oloroso sherry-seasoned butt.

– 7.3% Highland malt blend aged in a custom French oak barrel (heavy toast).

– 6.1% Teaninich single malt aged in a first-fill sherry butt.

– 5.8% Glen Moray single malt aged in a refill hogshead (Spanish red wine barrique).

Description
750ml Scottish Blended Whisky

Part artistry, part alchemy, Nectarosity generously brings you honeyed fruit and toasted oak notes, straight from our Blending Room.

Special American oak barrels are deployed twice. First to impart sweet spice to grain spirit, which finishes maturing in other casks. Once ‘prepared’, the barrels age malt whisky. We expertly blend these two characterful whiskies with selected others to dial up the fruit and toffee notes.

Joyously zesty with honey, lychee, juicy apricot and pineapple. Toffee and vanilla pull off a palate takeover, with lasting flavours of cinnamon bun.
