Soos u reeds verneem het, is Covid19 die rede vir die totale afsluiting (lockdown) vir die volgende 21 dae. PPS Monitering en Reaksie se dienste sal steeds voortgaan soos normaal. Ons dienste is as noodsaaklik geidentifiseer deur die President. In hierdie tyd van ernstige en noodsaaklike samewerking, sal ons beheerkamer ten volle operasioneel wees. Alle dienste sal steeds beskikbaar wees. Ons wens u n veilige tyd toe en wil u verseker van ons volhoubare samewerking.

BUSINESS ROBBERY
Filling station - Sonop Road

BRITS POS – BRITS – Five men entered the premises of the Elegant Filling Station (former Krok-‘n-Dill) and blew up a drop safe at approximately 00.30, this morning, Monday, 6 May 2019.
They entered the premises on the Sonop Road, allegedly in a white Toyota Condor.
“When they disembarked from the vehicle, they drew their weapons and pointed them at the petrol attendants and ordered them to lie down,” says Colonel Adéle Myburgh, spokesperson for the police. Of the suspects then went into the convenience store and held the personnel at gunpoint, blew up a drop-safe with explosives and collected the cash and ci******es.
“The owner apparently saw this happening on closed circuit TV (CCTV) equipment and alerted the security company. PPS members rushed to the scene and on arrival, the suspects fled the scene in their vehicle.” In the subsequent high-speed chase, a shootout between the security personnel and the suspects ensued when the suspects stopped the vehicle and fled into the veld.
One suspect was shot and arrested on the scene for business robbery, but the other four managed to escape.
Some of the cash and the stolen ci******es were recovered. Explosives were also found on the scene.
The injured suspect was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment.
